Happy Birthday Joe!

Happy Birthday Joe

Happy Birthday Joe!

We miss you!
How much?
Very much!

We love you!
How Much?
More than you can imagine and then some more for good measure.

“Happy Birthday to you!  Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Joe! Happy Birthday to you! May the dear lord bless you, May the dear Lord bless you, May the dear Lord bless Jooooooeeeeeyyyyyy….. May the dear Lord bless you.”  (Honey, we will sing it as loud as we can, and as off-tune as possible.)

Cole and I made a Cream Tart with Oranges, Honey, and Toasted-Almond Crust for Joe’s birthday (see below) and plan to spread a few of  his ashes at the Indiana Dunes.  Joe would have been 53 today and was not near good enough to die so young.

Odd invites you to Celebrate Joe’s Birthday with us, because Odd Loves Company and Odd loves you and you and you.

We would love to hear from you in the comment section of this blog, or on Facebook or Twitter!

P.S. Joe, David did a shout-out for all of us to play “The Doors” in celebration of your birthday … and I will, loudly!  Honey, that’s how much I love you and that’s how much I miss you.

  1. Happy Birthday Joe. “In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night.” – The Little Prince xo

  2. Love this – sending you hugs and warm thoughts – you are loved. P.S. Carter says he wants a subscription to Bon Appetit too – thanks! P.P.S. The picture with the mandarin oranges on top should be in the magazine!

  3. Carolee….

As a matter of fact that picture was in the magazine! I just used it until I could insert our own–not as pretty….but not bad and very tasty. Encourage cooking, like you do reading!

    Thanks for dropping by Odd!

  4. The tart looks tasty! Posted my favorite Doors song in the spirit and celebration of your Joe. It’s apparent he was truly loved!

  5. I would have to say Joe and I had our differences, however, he was just about a perfect Dad. In fact he WAS the perfect Dad. Thank you Susan and Richard for spending Joe’s birthday with Katybeth and Cole. They truly enjoyed being with you. The tart crust story was priceless!
Can’t wait to be with you all again.
