turn off that auto-correct and celebrate lower case day!

★~ Be Bald and Be Free Day:

Do bald people have bad hair days. Of course one would assume not . . . but I’m sure the bald head has rough spots on occasion or patches of fuzz that refuse to be tamed. Would those be bad bald days?

If your bald, today is your day to shine and be beautiful right along side Magic Johnson, Bruce Willis, Kelly Slater, Cal Ripken Jr, Seal, Patrick Stewart, Michael Chiklis,Andre Agassi…click for the GQ Most Powerful Bald men in America.

★~ Chocolate Covered Insect Day:

Chocolate is one of the most popular flavors in the world and people will eat it on anything—strawberries, pretzels, peanuts, even bugs! This holiday honors anyone brave enough to try a bite of chocolate-covered insect.

For this exotic snack, insects are roasted to perfection then coated in chocolate. Crickets and ants are the most popular variety, and most people think they taste like chocolate-covered popcorn. You can find an impressive selection online.

In some countries, like China and Thailand, chocolate-covered insects are a delicacy. In Southern Africa, caterpillars (without the chocolate!) are an important source of protein for the indigenous people.

Test your bravery on National Chocolate-Covered Insects Day, invite your friends over for a fear factor party, and sample this unusual treat!  Thank you for the invite. Really. But I have other plans. XX Recipe for Chocolate Covered Ants.

Speaking of writing, have you checked out the BIC pen for Ladies? A pen made just for women,  in pretty colors and everything. The perfect pen for dotting our i with hearts and smiley faces. The product description explains that the pens have a “sleek pen silhouette and jeweled accents [to] add style.”  Naturally, there is a pretty pen premium. A normal pack of 10 Bic crystal pens is $.32 per pen, while the Bic for Her pack of 16 crystal pens is $.47 per pen.  But they are worth it!  Ellen Degeneres shares her thoughts about the new Bic. . .

Give us strength!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

♥~

THE SOLUTION: “text.” When written in cursive, you have to add short lines for the x and both t‘s.

  1. Morno,
I will pass on the chocolate covered bugs. That cursive chart back memories of Mrs. Frost and not good memories. First and second grade handwriting was a real struggle especially since all the girls seem to get loops and curves perfect while all the boys were dunces.
No golf because of the rain. Going out to breakfast and then watching the game.
    Have a good one.

  2. The video is so funny. I almost feel liking buying the BIC just to see if there even is a difference. I love a good pen but black or blue ink is my preference.
Love chocolate on everything but bugs. e.e.cummings is one of my favorite more modern poets.
Hope the rain clears and your Sunday is sunny!

    • I might have to buy a pack but I hate to support dumb marketing.
Enjoying the rain it seems like it’s been forever since we have had two rainy days in a row–not if tomorrow it’s still wet I will start to whine.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I’m putting those pens on my Christmas list! Even at a premium, I’m worth it. I’m pretty sure today won’t include drizzling chocolate on insects and baking them. Maybe we will just make popcorn instead. I gave the puzzle to my dad he loves those kind of things.
Off to brunch with my parents-so glad they are visiting :-D.
    Enjoy your day.

    • A Santa gift–good idea!! Popcorn gets my vote any day of the week. Let me know if your dad works the puzzle out. Enjoy your brunch and say hi to your parents for me…I know they may think it’s Odd but I feel like I know them… 😀

  4. have always enjoyed ellen’s humor. the video reminds me of the snl commercials.
love chocolate, but not combined with insects. gotta draw the line somewhere.
a few moody blues tunes i still listen to.
i began typing lower case after rotator cuff surgery when it was the only option & just continued.
i’m remembering the palmer method for learning cursive.

    • You right! We must stand for something or we will fall for anything.
When I was growing up teachers gave me grief because of how I held my pen or pencil even tho they all agreed I had beautiful handwriting.
      Rotator surgery…sounds so painful!
