What is Your Type?

intj and esfp

I just signed up Cole (my 17-year-old son) for a college coaching session with Penelope Trunk – a little scary and a little exciting for both of us. I think Penelope will help Cole explore what future steps he wants to take, but she is not for the faint of heart, if she coaches likes she blogs. I will keep you posted.

In the meantime…

Before the coaching session, Penelope sent Cole a link where he could take the Myers Briggs test that Human Resource companies use around the country. I took it about 20 years ago when I was involved in the CJ Jung Institute in Chicago, and I just took it again. My scores stayed the same.  Here is the link to take the test and a fun web site that will explain the results. Obviously, a lot more can be done with this type of testing in terms of team building, relationships and personal development, but you have to start somewhere…right? I will you show you my score, if you show me your score….

  1. Ok…I took the test I am ENFJ. Describes me really well. Three Presidents are ENFJ and a lot of great actors. I am in very good company!
I can’t want for my husband to take it!
As always, thanks for coming up with this great stuff.

    • We are the same except you are extroverted while I am introverted. You are in good company! I looked.
Your welcome, glad you found it fun.

  2. This was really interesting. My scored shows ENTP. Sounds about right. I knew about Myers Briggs from my corporate days, but I don’t remember ever taking it. I can see how it would be helpful information. I’m going to send it to my teens to take, it will be interesting to see how we compare.
    Thanks!

    • It is fun to compare your scores to your family members, it can explain a lot! Cole and I were very close, but he was thinking where I was feeling which was pretty interesting.

    • I would have guessed the I and T. Glad you are happy with the results! Fred and Ethel..so great.

  3. Ooh, fun, a test! No, seriously, I’m an INFJ, which is pretty accurate. Glad to learn I should be writing, ha! I’ll have to save the link and let Domer give it a whirl. I think I must have taken this back in my corporate days, but who knows?!

    • I am going to bet that Domer has an T where you have an F.
By the way, besides Mother Teresa, Garry Trudeau , Jerry Seinfeld, Nicole Kidman …you are in very good company, just sayin’

  4. 25 years ago I was an ENFP. Now I am an ISTP. Wish I could find the old one to see exactly how much I changed since most of the scores now were pretty close to the dividing line.
