Hair today...gone tomorrow...

★~ Today’s Quote:  “Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”  ― Apple Inc.

Today is the last day of the June and you know what that means don’t you?  It’s time to prepare for the first of the month and all that can be yours by simple saying  ”rabbit, rabbit!” The first words out of your mouth on the first day of July must be “rabbit, rabbit.”

★~ Social Media Day:

social media

Mashable’s launched social media day in 2010 as a way to recognize the digital revolution happening right before our eyes. I guess this means you should spend more time on your favorite social media site today. Ok.

★~ Meteor Day:

The word “meteor” refers to the visible streak of light produced by fallen debris from space—”meteoroids.” We also call these beautiful sights “shooting stars” or “falling stars.” Tonight, make sure you look up and, if you see a meteor, don’t forget to make a wish.

★~Turkey Day:

The gate is built, the carport has been swept clean, we are ready! Cole left at 5am to pick up the VW bug and is expected to roll it into the carport at around 9pm tonight. One of his car advisors and his son, offered to trailer the bug back with Cole.  I was in charge of snacks.  I’m so happy that I’m not the one taking him to pick it up. I don’t think I could handle another 800 mile road trip this week. Once again, grateful for the village we live in.

This note on the fridge reminded me to mindful when I made the road snacks…..

Mom,
Thanks for making snacks for us to with us. But next time please make sure there are no dog names written on the zip lock bag.  I told everyone, ‘Lulu’  is a friend of yours who gave us cookies, fortunately the snacks did not taste like dog food. Love, Cole

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. I am off to a birthday brunch. What are your plans for today?

  1. I’m not much of a social media guy. I follow your Odd blog and subscribe to some golf sites but that’s about it. It all moves to fast for me. Steaks on the grill tonight. I’m buying the steaks and grilling them with my brother-in-law, sister is in charge of everything else. Not sure what is on the menu for dessert. We saw a few meteors in Oklahoma. Took it as a good sign.
I’ll look forward to hearing more about the Bugs arrival. Hope the trip goes as planned.
    Have a good one.

    • Bug is on it’s way home. ETA 12midnight. Hope you had a wonderful dinner. Steaks sounded so good. What did dessert end up being and did everyone talk about how happy they were to see you??

  2. Just like old times…Mike is in his spot, I’m in mine. I enjoy Facebook and keeping up on Twitter. I’ve used You Tube for lots of things. It’s a handy site. The video was interesting.
Hope the bug delivery is smooth and the guys have a fun road trip. I need to pop over to Cole’s blog.
I’m off to church, and then to breakfast with friends. The afternoon is free and I plan to spend it in my chair reading. Lazy day.
    Enjoy your brunch and day!

    • You’re all in your placee with bright shining faces….right?
I love You Tube for fix it stuff.
Hope you prayed for me! And there were cookies after Mass. Good cookies.
The reading part sounds good! I’m reading The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult and so far it’s very good.

  3. today’s quote is apparently why i am not a genius!
ears on animals are fun to watch. helpful at times, too.
    mmm, turkey…..& cranberry sauce!
now that is a vette! sweet!
i’m very cautious with social media. it’s a trust issue. astounding video……
granted, we get hot temps here. yesterday was just horrid….a record for june 107*. thankful power didn’t go out! giving the lawn a nice long drink as i type.
hope the trip for the bug goes smoothly. lu lu tainted snacks won’t matter as the miles pass.
nik needs a bath, will probably go back to gil’s. the regulars were gone by the time we meandered in yesterday.
    good day!

    • Glad you are able to get out more. The heat sounds awful! My sympathies.
You go and do a lot and I bet most of the social media beyond pictures would bore you somewhat. For me, it’s like a work water cooler and keeps me company throughout the day.
No LuLu snacks today. I was very careful. But your right after a certain number of miles, who cares.

  4. Saw a dead baby bunny in the street when I was walking Dallas this morning — sad that so many don’t make it to Rabbit Rabbit Day.
Hope Cole’s trek to fetch the Bug goes well. I’m kind with him, though, in the “LuLu” thing! But, hey, your heart’s in the right place, and I’m sure the snacks will be welcome on their journey!

    • That is sad. Poor Bunny.
Oh, I double checked all bags today. Twice. About the only thing I recycle is plastic bags, wouldn’t you know?
They have to bug and are on the way home but it is a very long trek!

    • And we’ve only just begun. They should be home around 12 midnight. Trailering is a slow process.
