Save the drama for your mama, because today we are going to let life tickle our funny bones. We are going to stop acting out Shakespeare and turn the dial to Saturday Night Live or a Seinfeld rerun. Life is absurd and funny almost every step of the way; our mission is to find the humor and let go of the drama. Today we are invited to lighten up and give our inner diva a much-needed rest.

Oh Almond Joy! Today we celebrate the kinship between chocolate and almonds. Almonds add a satisfying crunch to chocolate and provide a nutty, buttery flavor. A Hershey bar with almonds is my all-time favorite candy bar. To make your own almond chocolate, gently melt your favorite type of chocolate in a double boiler, then lay it out on a wax-papered tray to cool. Immediately drop in the desired bits of almonds and let it cool until firm. Or, if you’re feeling particularly ambitious, make your own Almond Joy Chocolate Bark…or just buy an Almond Joy and savor each bite.

We celebrated World UFO Day on July 2nd. But Google has unveiled an interactive Doodle to mark the 66th anniversary of the Roswell UFO incident. In early July 1947, witnesses reported seeing flying saucers and unidentified material on the ground in Roswell, N.M. Conspiracy theories about aliens visiting earth became widespread following a July 8 news report in The Roswell Daily Record. Headlined “RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region,” the article said the Roswell Army Air Field’s intelligence office recovered a “flying saucer” after a local rancher found it on his property. 1. Morno-Afternoono
Good holiday but I was ready to head back to work. Too much fun can kill you.
Almond Joys are one of my top candy bars. Great afternoon pick-up. I saw the google UFO but had no idea how to play it. Read the Shazam comic books when I was kid. Liked Captain Marvel.
Hope you are back up to speed tomorrow.

  2. There you are. I was wondering! Sorry you are under the weather. This holiday was almost too long. The kids are back at camp and I’ve planned a whole day for myself this week. My in-laws have graciously volunteered to pick-up and entertain the kids after camp on Thursday and take them to camp the next morning. Have I mentioned how much I love my in-laws? In the meantime, I’m cleaning up from the holiday and putting some order back in my life. No drama, tho, lots of happy, sun kissed, faces around here. I like Hershey’s almond bar!
My son nailed the google UFO game today. I guess it was a good one.
Hope you are, “fine as frog hair” tomorrow!

    • Lucky you! A whole day and night foot loose and kid free! FUN.
The Hershey almond bar is my favorite and my go to in the grocery store check out lane!

  3. Guess, I’m a sailing in the same boat as everyone else. By last night I was thinking enough already with this holiday. We had barbecued everything but the dog. The grilled is retired until at least the weekend and we are having mac and cheese tonight. Fish tomorrow night.
Love chocolate covered almonds. Hope you are over your summer yuck by tomorrow!

    • I know what you mean about barbecuing. We were done on Sunday night and ordered pizza. I think we are going to eat light for awhile. My Father-in-law use to stop by with a box of almonds every now and then and I gobbled them up with both hands!
      Feeling much better thanks!

  4. Sorry you aren’t up to par today, but, sometimes it is just palin good sense to kick back and have a self holiday. In other words…take care of ourselves. know you will be back in top form tomorrow. You didn’t get “exhausted” (from the exhaust fumes) from the ride in the bug did you?

  5. sorry you’re feeling a little punk today. hopefully, it’s just a 24 hour thing & you’re back at it tomorrow. plan on it!
hershey bar with almonds is a favorite of mine, too. story has it my older brother, joe(!), as a youngster, went up to the counter & told the man he wanted a hershey bar with two nuts! apparently, it broke up everyone who heard him!
yeah, i saw the ufo on google, too. didn’t understand!
we had rain today! of course, i had already watered early this morning.
    have a good evening!

    • Too funny! The UFO was a little hard to understand. For next time….et top flying saucer piece on ground near cow. Get rope from cow. Go to barn. Climb ladder and get horseshoe – which will connect to rope in your inventory. Climb down ladder, go under middle flying saucer piece on barn roof. Click on rope/horseshoe and drag it over to middle piece to get that one. Then go to house. Ring bell several times. Kid will drop bottom flying saucer piece. Get it. Then click on completed flying saucer icon to take off and fly away. Ok…I just thought you would want to know!! I’m feeling much better, thanks! P.S. You can still play if you go to UFO google doodle….just sayin’

  6. SCUD day should be everyday ! No more drama in my life, please , thank you….

    Hope you feel better soon.

    • I agree no more drama! Drama has taken it’s final bow and exited stage left with a final flourish!
      Much better, thanks!

    • I checked with the El Morno Poobah and she agree to write you a do-over pass. We run a loose ship around here. Go forth and eat Chocolate and Almonds!
