★~ Sugar Cookie Day:

sugar cookies

Delightfully buttery and simplistically sweet. All you need to make a batch of sugar cookies is flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, and baking powder. Enjoy them with a cup of coffee or a tall glass of lemonade, pack them in your picnic lunch, or enjoy them on your patio and they won’t get all gooey. If you want to dress them up, you can add a few sprinkles and take them anywhere.

Americans consume over 2 billion cookies a year, or 300 cookies for each person annually. Are you keeping up?

Feeling much better today. I must have just fizzled after the 4 day holiday. I might set up a sprinkler for my pups today and see what kind of response I get, if it doesn’t rain. Did you like the video’s? I loved the cat one.

Seems a little sad that we only have one holiday to celebrate today, so be sure to give Sugar Cookie Day your best effort!

Wishing you a terrific Tuesday!

  1. Morno,
A sugar cookie is the perfect coffee cookie. It’s also a good cookie to take to the office. So I will head out and buy them for the office gang.
Liked all the videos. Especially the cat one.
    Have a good one.

    • Sugar cookies for the office will certainly sweeten everyones day!
The cat video BE MORE DOG was too funny.

  2. Good Morno,
Those videos are hilarious. They were all great. I’m with Mike on the sugar cookies. They are a perfect cookie. Easy to make, great with coffee and good plain and decorated.
Love Tom Hanks, I’ve enjoyed every movie he has been in. Forrest Gump still draws me in when I’m flipping channels.
Hot and Humid here today. The only good part is it’s suppose to be good for my skin. My skin stays supple while I melt away.
    Terrific Tuesday too you!

    • Aren’t they great? I like sugar cookies but always figured everyone favorite cookie would be a chocolate chip cookie. I was surprised the sugar cookie had such a fan club.
We have humidity here too. Feels like a sauna outside. Thank God for AC!

  3. Another day of bar prep class for me. Starting to feel like I will not be able to remember anything on exam day. Sigh – I press on.

    • Morno!
Bet that feeling is common after you have studied so many hours but just the other side of it a breakthrough when you sit down to take the exam and pass with confidence. it feels like forever, I know, but we are all cheering you on from the side lines!

  4. well….looks who is up & at ’em this morning! welcome back!
sugar cookies are ok. i’d vote for a more dressed up option. it’s just me…..

another new human friend for nikki will be coming today. at the moment, she is resting with head on my legs, feet twitching. life is good!
    good day to you!

    • Yep, fine as frog hair and thank goodness because it has been one of THOSE days.
Hope Nik had fun with her vistors and you too!

  5. I love sugar cookies, perfect with coffee or tea. Irene, since you drink neither you probably prefer Choc. chip.
BTW what do people drink that don’t drink coffee or tea?
I loved the dogs playing in the sprinklers. I can’t imagine my dog doing that, most Dobes don’t do water.

    • Coke 😀
I was going to make suar cookies today, but was afraid I might burn the kitchen down with today’s luck. Pipes are draining in bathroom!

  6. Not a fan of sugar cookies…too plain and not that tasty unless there are pecan pieces in them or raisins or SOMETHING. Just to blah without anything in them….maybe blueberries????LOL…Loved the dog in the sprinkler. Millie loves the hose and chasing the water as it is sprayed. Silly dog.

    • Well of-course everything is better with pecans! Blueberries? Well they would need more than two, that is for sure! 😀 Wonder if Millie would play in the sprinkler?
