Making New Friends

★~ Today’s Quote:  Chocolate doesn’t ask silly question, Chocolate understands!

★~ Tell the Truth Day:

truth or consequence

The whole truth and nothing but the truth, honesty is the best policy, once you practice to deceive what an ugly web you weave, truth is stranger than fiction, don’t you lie to me, I just want to find out the truth, in the end the truth will come out, the truth will set you free, life is so much simpler when you just tell the truth, truth fears no trial…

Today we are all challenged to go one whole day without telling a lie or saying anything misleading or dishonest to others.

However, remember what your mom always said: if you can’t say something nice, it’s better not to say anything at all; think before you open your mouth; what you don’t know won’t hurt you; and, to quote my own mom, “the truth can be overrated.”

★~ Build a Scarecrow Day :

scarecrow

Are birds eating all of the fruits and vegetables in your garden faster than you can pick them? Solve your problem with a little hay, old clothes and a hat! Wa La a Scarecrow. Or plant two poles on either side of your garden, attach a string and then dangle small items from the string over your fruits and vegetables. Garden predators do not like things moving near then or over them.

★~  Chocolate Day:

chocolate

There are a number of dates throughout the year promoting variations of local, national or international Chocolate Day – However, the El Morno research team believes today is the true, definitive, ‘Chocolate Day‘, so celebrate with some of the high cocoa, rich, dark chocolate that makes you go tingly inside! And don’t worry we’ll celebrate all the chocolate days! We are not purist.

★~ Strawberry Sundae:

stawberry sundaee

If you’re looking for the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day, then look no further. A strawberry sundae made with ice cream, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries will do the trick!

I thought this was interesting information about lightening: July is the worst month for lightning strike fatalities. Men (for unknown reasons) and outdoorsy types (for obvious reasons) are the most susceptible—You can read more here, New Statistics on lightening.  I was taking a walk with a pup a few Julys ago when Mother Nature decided to treat us to a lightening show;it was both amazing and terrifying. I could taste and feel the electricity as it  lit up the sky. Thank Goodness, the pup was largely unaffected as we inched our way safely inside; a much better place to enjoy the show.

Sundaes and Chocolate! Go forth and savor the day.

  1. Morno,

Good day all around. We had a scarecrow in the yard for awhile but those bird brains kept using his straw for their nests.
Thanks for the tip I can pick up some strawberry ice cream, and chocolate syrup for dessert tonight at my sisters.
Passing on golf today and heading over to a friends pool. We couldn’t get it together early enough to golf and I don’t want to play in the afternoon sun. Guess I’m getting old.
    Have a good one.

    • Well I guess you can fool some of the birds some of the time and but not all the time. Or something like that….Pool sounds like the perfect way to spend the day, too me! Ice cream fixings a perfect dessert.

  6. spent time at the pool today doing exercises and floating around. Went and picked up Culver’s Chicken dinner for hubby and I indulged in a kiddie meal of 2 chicken planks and small fries. We had 90 degrees here today. Great day to be at the pool and playing with Chester. He is growing so fast and learning to be a good puppy.
