Scrabble

The official game of rainy days spent stuck in the hotel during a beach vacation, Scrabble is sold in 121 countries, with 29 different language versions. There are 101 accepted two-letter words and 1015 three-letter words in the English language. I always wondered about that…Really. Play a game of scrabble today and may the word quixotry be with you.

~  Scrabble is a real word. It means “to scratch frantically.”

~  Scrabble sets are found in one out of every three American homes

~  If all the Scrabble tiles ever produced were placed end to end they would reach the equivalent of eight times around the earth.

★~ Peach Cobbler Day:

Peach Cobbler

If you eat cobbler in the United States more than likely you will be eating a dessert made from peaches and batter. When it is baked, the batter rises into a dumpling.  If you order cobbler in Europe you will be treated to a meat dish made into a type of casserole. Good to know don’t you think?

Did you know that the world’s record for the  largest peach cobbler (so far) was 11 by 5 feet and 8 inches deep? It was made out of 90 pounds of butter, 150 pounds of sugar, 150 pounds of flour, 32 gallons of milk, and 75 gallons of peaches! This gigantic cobbler was made for the Georgia Peach Festival in 2007 and every year they try and out-do the previous year. I bet they call each other precious, peachy, and bless each other hearts a lot during that event: “We just love Mary Jo to death but she kain’t make a peach cobbler worth giving to the dawgs…Bless Her Heart.”

Our Deer Antler Domain (Deer Antlers For Pups) was highjacked in a Google Heist. So for the time being if you are looking for our website Deer Antlers For Pups this is the temporary web site . Yesterday, I bought a new domain name and will pull together a simple website over the next couple of days. Annoyed does not even begin to cover it, but after 6 weeks and countless hours of trying to sort it out,  it’s time to chill, deal and move forward.

This weekend Cole and I are working on a few Spring Cleaning projects around the house and a god awful sound was coming from his room….

Me: Cole what are you doing?

Cole: Just sharpening my axe. Why?

Me: Just curious.

Speaking of Cole….I sent him a text….

Me:  Just thinking about what a great kid you are – Love you.

The response a few  seconds later….

Cole: K

Followed about a minute later

Cole: Oh. Sorry. I Love You too.

Off to let out my pups, and whip up some Cinnamon buns in my EZ Doh…

What are your plans for the day?

Odd Loves Company!

  1. Peach Cobbler sounds good or maybe a Peach Pie.
Weather is windy and threatening to rain so no golf today. I need to take a day off since I played Friday and yesterday. Catching up at home and you’ve have given me plenty to watch and read.
Walmart greedy stockholders are insatiable and the among the worst humanity has to offer. We turned down a contracting job with them. The job wasn’t worth they way they would treat my people and the money could be made up with two more jobs. Off my soapbox now.
A platypus would be an interesting pet. Looks friendly.
    Have a good one.

    • Peach pie–yum. A day off is good from time to time even from something you enjoy.
Totally agree about Walmart. All greed.
A Platypus would be very cute. . .I think they can be friendly but not always.
Hope you enjoy your quiet day.

  2. There’s a nicely built tree house Nik & I pass along the hike & bike trail. Kids enjoy shouting out I like your dog.
    Walmart……zero conscience.
Even I had a spaghetti tower that held x amount of measured spaghetti! Of course, mine did not have the nifty red rooster on top.
Props to the unsung hero! Good man.
Last day of tracking class today. Too bad….we need lots of work!
    Good morning!

    • We always talked about a tree house but it never happened. I think they are very cool.
Will there be more classes? Or has it ended until after summer? I suspect tracking in the humidity and heat would be brutal.
I have never had a spaghetti tower without with a rooster. Sigh.

  3. Hope you got the website problem resolved to your satisfaction. I always remind clients that renewing domains and hosting is THEIR problem, not mine — but that hasn’t kept me from coming to their aid when they forget!
I don’t like warm peaches. Not one bit. Peaches are meant to be eaten fresh or cold!
That platypus reminds me of the woodchuck we had in our yard last summer. Now, owls? They’re so CUTE! And I love how they look like they know more than they’re saying!

    • Nothing beats a cold peach. I like peach everything.
I knew about the renewal. I have been working for over 6 weeks to try and renew but was caught in an issue between the old and new. Deer Antlers was on blogger, the domain held with Google. It’s an ancient site. Lots of people with the same issue. No resolution. No help. Unfortunate, but time to move on.
A pet Owl would be fun too!

  4. I love peach anything! One year a friend and I went to Fredicksburgh during peach season. We had everything they made with fresh peaches and it was all wonderful.
    Walmart is just SOOOOO greedy.

    • i am hungry for peach now. Will it never end.
Will you mind sharing the upstairs bathroom with a Duckbill Platypus? A small one.

  5. It has been non-stop all day and now that I can finally stop I’m wide awake. I’ll watch the videos and click on the links and hopefully in an hour I’ll be ready to say El Nighto. We have generous friends with several peach tree who have a tree picking party every year. Needless to say we all attend. Right off the tree is my favorite but I wouldn’t say No to peach pie or cobbler.
    TTFN.

    • Glad you made it and hope you get a good nights sleep. Peach picking sounds like fun especially if you have someone who can turn the peaches into pie!
      Sweet Dreams.
