Grumpy Oscar

The Grump Out asked sour pusses to suck it up and refrain from getting their grump on — at least for 24 hours. That included no grumping, no frowning, no grousing, complaining, punching, slapping, hitting or killing. FOR ONE WHOLE DAY. Janice A. Hathy B.S.,H.B. is the creator of the Great American Grump Out

Roast Leg of Lamb

People have been eating lamb for more than 10,000 years. During the Middle Ages, farmers learned that sheep wool could be used for clothing , skins for parchment, milk for butter and cheese, and hearty flavorful meat so sheep were considered very economical to raise.

I’m told you can cook lamb a variety of different ways, but roasting is one of the most popular methods. The dish pairs beautifully with seasonings like rosemary, oregano, thyme, or lemon zest.

My sweet Mother wants me to remind you not to forget the mint jelly. Bon appétit!

These two songs would be the only number one hits for the group, though they made it to number two with Dedicated to the One I Love.

I have to get ready for my playdate with the dashing baby Henry. My teen and I are cleaning out our Magic Garage Loft in hopes of making more room in the garage for his new power tools that his uncle gave him.

While cleaning out the loft I found Cole’s first four wheel drive vehicle–his stroller.  I thought it was long gone, but dearly belated Joe obviously couldn’t stand to part with it. No, it wasn’t a top of the line stroller, and only set us back about $60.00 (many of our friends paid hundreds) but we had a lot of fun picking it out and test driving it. We were impressed with how smoothly it handled. It was roomy, sturdy, tough and easy to clean. It took us three weeks to find a stroller we liked mostly because we were having so much fun comparing models. Which is long way of saying Baby Henry, Rascal and I might take a spin around the block. Baby Henry can have the honor of riding in the stroller. Pictures will be forth coming as well as the story of the loft which I had never before set foot in (17 years) until this past week. Really.

  1. Good Morno,
Happy as if I had good sense so I’m on board with not grumping. Must be the weather.
That leg of lamb sure looks good. I haven’t had lamb in a very good time.
Table saw. Lots of possibilities. Enjoy Henry and have a good one.

    • Glad you were happy and had good sense too! Maybe it’s time to have lamb chops!
Tons of possibilities and I share them with Cole daily.

  2. Wow, that is one good-looking saw! You know us lesbians. We like our power tools. I know it’s a stereotype, but in this case it’s accurate. Glad you found the stroller, as well. Have a lovely day, my friend.

    Hugs from Ecuador,
    Kathy

    • Too funny. I had no idea. Oh wait wasn’t there something with Billy Jean King back in the days? I plan to keep the kid and the saw humming away.

Hugs back to you from Chicago.

  3. You’ve managed NOT to step foot in your loft for 17 whole years? Wow, I’m impressed! I can only imagine the treasures you uncovered!
Power tools make a nice gift for a young man like Cole.
I’m not too keen on lamb, though I’ve only had it once (and tell your darling mom that yes, it *did* come with mint jelly, which sadly didn’t make it taste any better!)
Hope you have as pretty a day there as we do here — makes for better strolling!

    • Yep. I just disappeared that loft for the most part. Treasures? I’ll have to write the post.
Cole loves the saw. It has a rich history and I think they will have a long and happy relationship.
I’m not a lamb fan either and I’ll agree Mint jelly did not change my mind.
