During the autumn months, festive pumpkin-flavored treats are everywhere. You can find all sorts of goodies like pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin soup, pumpkin beer, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin lattes  and pumpkin cheesecake!

Pumpkin cheesecake is traditionally made with a graham cracker crust and a pumpkin purée cheesecake filling. Did you know that cheesecakes were popular in Greece as early as 2000 BC? Today there are hundreds of variations all over the world. This Southern Living recipe for Pumpkin-Pecan Cheesecake sounds really good

Ohio, today is your day!  Let your stories run on to your hearts content. And we may honor you by joining in! 😀

★~ Count Your Buttons Day:

Did you know that in 1940s England, a well-dressed man wore approximately 70 buttons on his clothing (though only a few of them were functional). I searched out that fact so button day would be just a little more exciting. in 2012, I wore a shirt with four buttons on count your button day. In 2013, my jacket has 8 buttons. And this the button count is 4.  Ok, now you count how many buttons you’re wearing and share with me. This is fun, isn’t it?

I love a pretty scarf, but I’m not very clever with them. This video has great scarf tying tips. Now, I wish my sweet Mom was closer so she could tie them for me, because this kind of thing is not my forte. BUT, I’m going to give it a try and while the directions in the video go fast, it can be paused, or watched again.

It’s Prairie Wolf Dog Park Day. I am heading out bright and early with campers and hot chocolate. I can’t wait to see how the fall foliage has changed.

Have a terrific Tuesday but if it falls short of your exceptions feel free to rant -it’s Rant Tuesday!

  1. Morno,
6 buttons. The rest will have to wait until later. I’ve got to go and babble at a breakfast meeting.
    Have a good one.

  2. It’s MY DAY!!!!!! Thank you for recognizing it!!! I truly appreciate your recognition of babbling day and all things Ohio. 🙂
I loved the video of Veronika—what an amazing young woman and yes–we need a zillion of her in this world.
I didn’t use to wear the scarf but I do all of the time now. I have some fun ones with owls and even a sheep one with one tiny black sheep on it——they are always conversation starters –as if I needed a conversation starter, right?? Anyway—I have used this same tutorial for making new knots or whatever. Mine don’t always look quite a good but it is a great way to learn!
Have a fabulous day. Sounds like you have been busy!!!

    • HAHAHA. Well, I wasn’t going to call anyone out but you did come to mind — Despite the fact that you never babble and are fascinating. SO what DO you think of Mi – see Irene’s comment below??

  3. What does babbling day have to do with Ohio? I live in Ohio and have never heard of this nor can I see any explanation here on Odd.

    • Well, Elyse we are so glad you asked. Over the years, it has come to our attention that people from Ohio that we know and mostly love sometimes have a bit of a hard time getting to the point of a story. I wouldn’t say they babble on and on, of-course, but they fill in all the details and then some. Beth Ann is also from Ohio ^. And I usually use the term “Ohio” when my post go on a little long or take a turn towards random. It’s a jest, a tease. And I decided today we would honor our Ohio Friends. :-D. Fun intended.

  4. I’ll leave the pumpkin cheesecake to someone else. Picture looks nice & is very festive.
Zero buttons. Still too warm here for a jacket. Mornings are cooler though!
Living in MI, the Buckeye State is not considered a friend. They’re ok now….23 years after moving away!
    Kudos to Veronika’s vision!
Prairie Wolf Dog Park sure sounds like a fun place to take dogs. Have enjoyed the pictures taken there. Is PWDP a far drive?
    Good evening!

    • Not my favorite either. Sheesh it takes a Mi gal a while to move on. 😀 I’ll ask Beth Ann ^ how she feels about Mi.
Those buckeyes are tasty. What food does MI offer?
      No buttons? None?
Prairie Wolf is so much fun. We have the perfect mix of daycampers for our Tuesday run. It’s 25 miles from our house so it’s a hike but it’s freeway driving and we try to miss the traffic so it’s not too bad and well worth it -even better gas prices are dropping! No matter what else is going on after a morning stomping around the pups -I feel renewed.
