Which Element Represents You?

What Element Are You

Fall is the perfect time to connect to the elements and add balance to our lives. It’s elementary, my dear Odd reader, so please do read on.

Air, water, earth, and fire—we all have a cosmic connection to one of the four elements, each of which represents human qualities.

The element of air represents the intellect, the ability to respond to reason, logic, and order and to weigh one fact against the other in a logical, intelligent way.

Water represents the emotional side of our nature. Our inner feelings, sensitivities, and responses to other people and the environment.

Earth represents the physical side of human nature. Down to earth people tend to deal with life in tangible and concrete ways. They sow deep roots and nourish those around them. They are protectors

Fire governs the intuitive and spiritual sides of our nature. Fire also represents energy and activity.  If you’re “all fired up,” you’re inspired and ready to go.

While we are all a little bit of each element, the date on which you were born determines your dominant element. I’ve broken these dates down for you.

THE NUMBER 1: Born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th of the month – Fire is your natural element, representing energy and force.

THE NUMBER 2: Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th of the month – Water is your natural element, representing feelings and emotions.

THE NUMBER 3: Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th of the month – Fire is your natural element, ruling force and energy.

THE NUMBER 4: Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st of the month – Air is your natural element, representing mental and intellectual qualities.

THE NUMBER 5: Born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd of the month – Air is your natural element, ruling thinking and mental activities.

THE NUMBER 6: Born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th of the month – Earth is your natural element, governing practical and down-to-earth ways of dealing with things.

THE NUMBER 7: Born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th of the month – Water is your natural element, representing deep thoughts and inner feelings.

THE NUMBER 8: Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th of the month – Earth is your natural element, governing methodical and practical ways.

THE NUMBER 9: Born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th of the month – Fire is your natural element, denoting intuition, spirit, and energy.

Here is an example of how the elements offer us insights into ourselves and our relationships.

My element is earth. My teen’s element is water. Our water leak crisis gave me an opportunity to observe how we each approached the element of water. Cole puzzled over the leaking water. He was slow to action. I fully expected him to make paper boats to sail along the leaks as he pondered where to put the next sand bag. I searched for water sources and sandbagged every puddle in an effort to protect our abode. Cole’s element demands introspection, while my element demands that I act and protect.. Our different approaches can be frustrating. A fresh breath of air would add reason, order, and logic to our water strategies.

Now, it’s your turn. Does your element suit you? What element would bring more balance to your life?

Stay tune, we’ll talk more about the elements, numbers, and synchronicity in upcoming posts. I’ll read tarot cards for Odd Readers on October  23, 30. Click over to see how the Lunar and solar Eclipse will influence our sun signs this month.

  1. I’m air. Seems to describe me. I can blow through thing pretty quick. And I’ve been told that I’m full of hot air. I’ll have to see how the rest of my family lines up.
All this is new to me.

  2. Well, now I’m completely flummoxed. I always thought I was earth since Virgo is an earth sign. But according to your list, I’m air based on the number of the date I was born on. Hmmm. By this same reasoning, Domer is a Pisces (a water sign), but his element falls into earth. Hmmm again. This is FUN!! Which takes precedence, do you know? Not that I’m unhappy with being a bit of both, ha!

    • Love the word flummoxed. I don’t think we use it nearly enough.
Your dominant element is usually determined by your birth date. While your astrological element is determined by your birth month and of-course lots of other factors.
I would say your birth date takes precedence. At least speaking from a numerology point of view.
I think having both air and earth makes for a more balanced person. And I have a feeling fire isn’t too far behind. 😀
Funny for me that both Cole and Joe are water by way of sign and birth date. For a fire and earth person that is a lot of water to cope with…So much dreamy.
It is fun. I hope to explore and share more on this topic.
