★~ Today’s Quote: I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.  Hippolyte Taine

★~ Answer You Cat’s Question Day:

Today, be prepared to answer the questions: Why is a slobbered-on ball more appreciated than the mice I drop at your feet? (UH???) Why can’t I sun myself on the kitchen counter? Why do you label me a picky eater when I am really just a discerning gourmand? Have you ever considered matching your decor and wardrobe to me instead of constantly complaining about my hair?

Do share what questions your cat asked today. Inquiring minds want to know.

 ★~ Blonde Brownie Day:

Known also simply as blondies, these little baked goods are just brownies minus the chocolate. Why anyone would take chocolate out of a dessert is a mystery to me, but if I did not know that a brownie was supposed to be chocolate—I mean, everyone knows this—then the brownies I made would be delicious…but I can’t help but think they are missing something, and they are CHOCOLATE.

The video (above) will show you how to mix up a batch of blondies.

★~ Today in History:

♥~ 1959 – The Coors Brewing Company of Golden, Colorado, began offering its beer in aluminum cans. Coors was the first American beverage company to manufacture and market its product in the new container.

♥~ 1976 - A bank robbery in Beirut netted a world record haul. Boxes of cash and other valuables taken from the British Bank of the Middle East in Bab Idriss were estimated to be worth some $50 million.

Morris was the first person to be convicted under a U.S. law designed to protect computer systems from malicious break-ins and viruses.

♥~ 1990 – Nairobi police arrested a Greek nun for trying to smuggle 6,000 bees into Kenya under her habit. She said she wanted to use the bees’ wax to make candles.

El Morno turned into El Afternoon….I fell asleep last night before I wrote El Morno. I simple must write earlier in the day but you know how it is sometimes— you think about writing, and find yourself cooking…or pealing tape off the ceiling. It has been one of those kind of weekends.

Not only did I make blondies this weekend, I also made bread and chocolate chip cookies. Yep, I went all wild and kitchen crazy. I was a whisking goddess; ok maybe that is taking it a little far. The bread turned out perfectly, if I do say so myself…and since you are not here to share with (such a shame that you are not), I’m going to have to say so myself.

However, let me ask you a question about my chocolate chip cookies: Are they supposed to have tiny teeth-breaking bits of rock in them? Is this something new Toll House has added to the recipe? If so, shouldn’t this new ingredient be listed somewhere on the package? No kidding…Thank God Cole had the first cookie and was able to warn me after he bit down on a piece of what could only be described as gravel. The second and third cookies also had gravel in them. Yes, we are eating the cookies…we are just being very careful. No way I’m throwing out a perfectly good (except for the gravel) batch of chocolate chip cookies. I plan to give Toll House a ringy dingy tomorrow, but any ideas?

El Afternoon-o. My cat has been very quiet today. Seems satisfied and content.
Gravel in your cookies, now that does not seem right at all. I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t eat them but if you do–eat them carefully.

Weekend going too fast.
