★~ Take Your Dog To Work Day:
About 1.4 million owners take some 2.3 million dogs to work every day, according to an American Pet Products Association survey last year. Some of the nation’s largest employers are dog-friendly – like Google Inc. and Amazon.com. Keeping employees happy is one of the main reasons cited by employers. Today even more pups will join the work force to celebrate Take Your Dog To Work Day.
I will try to share a few pictures of Rascal, “at work.”
★~ Onion Ring Day:
The exact origins of the onion ring are unknown, but in 1933 a recipe for deep-fried onion rings that are dipped in milk then coated in flour appeared in a Crisco advertisement in The New York Times Magazine.
I love a great onion ring. And I even have an onion ring holder! I have never made onion rings but when I do, i have a place to put them! For more about onions click ‘Onions-Did your know….’
★~ National Chocolate Eclair Day:
The perfect contrast to the grease-laden onion ring—a sugary sweet eclair! The word eclair is French for lightening. To produce a real eclair, a baker must prepare pâte à choux, a dough that generates the necessary steam to hollow out a giant cavity into which a pastry chef can pump that lush vanilla cream. In other words the eclairs at our local Jewel fall woefully short of being the “real thing.” So stop by the local bakery and buy an eclair to enjoy tonight’s dessert

★~ Did You Know:
When a pin is placed vertically in water, it will sink. But if the pin is placed horizontally in the water, it will float.
Our El Morno’s Staff member in charge of demonstrations, experiments, juggling, and magic is currently unavailable. However, he promises not to keep us on pins and needles and will demonstrate the amazing floating-sinking needle trick very soon. So please stay tune.

I thought this was a fun video to watch on ‘Take Your Dog To Work Day’. Jim Larson and his Golden Retriever ride around in a Russian motorcycle with a side-car.
TGIF! Have A Fun Friday!
♥
I don’t have a dog to take to work but I think I will stop at the bakery and sweeten up the staff with some chocolate eclairs!
TGIF–Golf weekend for me!
Bet you were popular on Friday!
Wow just like old times Mike and I are the early birds together! Love chocolate eclairs and onion rings!
We will have a few four legged workers today. It’s such fun seeing them trot around the office and playing ball in the hall. Makes a good Friday-Great! I will stop and pick up a few Scooby Snacks.
Have a super day!
That does sound like fun and I bet you are every pups favorite office worker!
My most favourite pastry has always been the chocolate eclair. Imagine how thrilled I was when I finally found a place called….wait for it….’Silly yaks’ (celiacs) that made gluten free eclairs. They get my vote any day.
Our Goodie Gluten had found her chocolate eclair fix at Silly Yaks…..there is a blog post in there somewhere…..
One nice thing about working from home for myself is being able to take my Sheltie to work every day!! Who knew it was a real “holiday”?? Kb, thanks for listing all these fascinating people who change their names and become famous — that’s just so interesting!
Yep…our pups work every day! Ha. Your welcome it’s fun for me too!
I have both Tanner & Maggie, my product testing team at work today. They are busy sleeping on their dog beds at the moment. All inventory is above “snout level” in my warehouse, so they don’t over do the testing part….
I know what you mean…my dad constantly complains that my mom’s Doberman is shoplifting inventory–my mother says my dad is confused she is simple making sure the antlers are fine enough for our customers.
By the way, I forgot to compliment you, KB on your new summer mantel picture!! It’s great. I want that lemonade.
Thanks! Help yourself!
