April is National Poetry Month, and cushioned near the center of the month is the haiku.
National Haiku Poetry Day “is a celebration of the genre of haiku, a kind of poetry whose origins date back a millennium in Japan; and more specifically, of English-language haiku, which has now been written for more than a century,” according to The Haiku Foundation. Try writing your own haiku with five syllables in line one, seven syllables in line two, and five syllables in line three.

★~Cheeseball Day:
How do you spell it anyway—cheese ball or cheeseball or cheese-ball? Ok-I have made an executive Odd decision I am going with the one-word spelling: cheeseball. To continue, there seems to be two main types of cheeseballs. I will discuss both types, but unfortunately, I think the intent of this day is to celebrate the baseball sized, nut covered, soft cheese wad that people bring to holidays parties or as hostess gifts. For example: Aunt Margaret sends them a cheeseball and they recycle it by bringing it to the office party or as a hostess gift to your party. The type of cheeseballs that deserve to be celebrated are those crunchy, cheesy, bite-sized balls of bright orange goodness, the airy snacks loved by both children and adults alike. I say throw caution to the wind and just celebrate whichever cheeseball makes you say, “cheese!”

Named after the renowned World War II fighter aircraft, the Mustang was “designed to be designed by you.” This meant that you could buy the coupe or convertible with your choice of a six-cylinder engine with 101 horsepower, a 164 horsepower V-8, or a 210 horsepower V-8 engine. Did you want three-speed, four-speed or automatic transmission? Maybe you preferred front bucket seats or the front bench-style seat. Blah Blah day always reminds my of my ex wife. She can go on forever about nothing. Not a fan of cheeseballs, they always taste old. I had an uncle that owned a 1964 mustang, it is/was a beautiful car.

I bet your ex would complain you never listened to her! But since she doesn’t read Odd and you do–we are in complete agreement with your Blah assessment. The old mustangs were very cool! Red, of-course.
I love cheese balls but I go more for the long cylindrical kind of cheesy delicious snack otherwise known in our family as “worms”. Don’t ask me why. I come from a special family!

Mike nice to see you ^. I’ll feel a little Blah today, so I guess I am in step with Blah, Blah, day. I have never understood the cheeseball, but I do love the puffed round ones. I doubt they have any cheese in them, tho.
The bear picture is so funny, and will you be offended if I say that I can imagine you doing that?
Off to work I go, I may come home after I clear off my desk though and climb back in bed.

I have the best recipe for the Cheeseball! My nephews clamor for it at every family gathering! It is the best made one day ahead. No cheddar here.
1 block cream cheese (8 oz)
3 green onions chopped
1/2 green pepper diced
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
A few shakes of Lawry’s Seasoned salt
Soften cream cheese and mix all ingredients except use only 1/4 cup nuts in mixture. Save the other 1/4 cup for coating the outside of the ball. refrigerate overnite and serve with Townhouse crackers (don’t ask why Townhouse, they just work). NUMMMMM
Ok Nancy. I will give this cheeseball a chance. Because you are a great cook, and if you say it’s so it must be so! It also has everything in I like. It will be hard to turn my loyalties away from Ritz, tho!!

I never owned a Mustang, but I drove a friend’s and found the stick shift a bit cumbersome. The new models look pretty cool, though.

I wonder if that mustang stick is a guy thing. I’m pretty sure the new mustang is like the new bug..more of a girls car. 😀 Why is the bear sad? I think he is just a whiner (between you and me). I am buying a pack of google eyes. I’ll report back!
i always preferred the very early mustang classics to the later models.

When we looked at cars, I tried to get Cole to consider a mustang, but the newer models just did not do it for him. Nancy is a great cook, if she says the cheeseball recipe is a winner, you can bet on it

I had a Mustang the first year they came out..loved it but it just didn’t work for me since I had 5 kids to haul around..wish I still had that car..now they are worth big bucks.. 🙁
