Researchers at the University of Kansas found that people were able to correctly judge a stranger’s age, gender, income, political affiliation, emotional and other important personality traits just by looking at the person’s shoes. The study, consisted of 63 students who looked at photographs showing 208 different pairs of shoes that belonged to volunteers in the experiment concluded that people do wear shoes that reveal their personality, whether they intend to or not.
Very Interesting…now lets find out if Odds shoe reviewers are in step with the research!
Marcie:
Old sneakers,
Old sneakers
Is it time I throw you out?
Everyone says yes,
But I have my doubts.
A little bit worn
A little bit torn
A little bit dirty,
But still very sturdy.
I see many years
With you on my feet
So I’ll keep you old sneakers
Until my toes start to peep.

These are the shoes on an adventurer. I can tell this because not only are they well-worn and built for comfort and speed but they appear to be sitting on a bear! I’m hoping that the wearer ran out of the shoes while escaping from this bear before they were eaten. That being said, the neutral color and comfortable look makes me think that this is a woman who is ready for anything. She can walk the dog, go to the gym, hunt down the kids, or just kick back with her feet propped up on her bear!

These shoes are tiny. Maybe they are someone’s baby shoes. I mean look at the evidence, this MUST be an old picture because that looks like a shag carpet that they are on. Or a bear. Either way I’m guessing that they are well liked, but worn only when they match the outfit. The loose laces indicate that a person might need to get them on in a hurry so they might belong to a guy who sleeps around and wants to be able to get the shoes on and out the door before she wakes up and wants to cuddle. I am all over the place on these . . . they’ve got me a bit stumped. Maybe a small child or maybe a man-slut.
Good To Know: According to Glamour, the average woman will buy 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime. All in all, she will end up spending $25,000 on shoes.

Oh, my, I’ve always heard it said that if you want to change your life, buy (and wear) red shoes. The red color on this pair doesn’t pop, but I’m assuming the wearer bought them with that philosophy in mind. What snazzy sandals! The two-buckle strap is quite practical, in case one’s feet swell as they tend to do for most of us during the day. And the open-toed effect not only lets one’s feet breathe — it also allows one to show off a polished ten-pack of toesies! And glittery toe-rings, to boot!
Although I can’t tell from the picture if these sandals have a heel, I’m going on the assumption they have at least a wedge. Very chic. Gives you just a hint of height (AKA commanding presence) and that’s bound to count for something as you run errands. No, these aren’t “working” shoes — at least for most businesses I know — but they’re comfy-looking, practical, and attractive. An unbeatable combination!

You’ve got to love a lady who takes such great care of her feet. She decorates them with jewelry and literally paints the town, or at least her toenails, red! It is a fact that no one can be sad or depressed or even think a grumpy thought while wearing red shoes. I have a feeling this woman doesn’t have too many attacks of the grumpies and if she ever does she just looks at these happy red shoes and decides to make the choice to be happy.

Let’s see, these shoes remind me of smuggling. I can just see this person in the airport after the big gold heist, hiding the booty in plain sight.
“Maam, could you take off your shoes?”
“She’s clean, nothing here but toes rings.”
Five or ten trips and all the gold is safely smuggled.
Red is a fun color. Especially in Amsterdam. These seem like a fun pair of shoes that go with most anything casual. I would never wear them, but they look fine on you. You see, I am not limber enough to paint my toenails. I cannot imagine the bravery it would take to display my misshapen, Fred Flintstone feet to the world. No amount of paint or gold would help. Maybe because my feet are hooves?
Good To Know: The shoes of palace women during the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911) were red. Accompanied by beautiful figures and thick soles, they were very fancy and honorable.

As a rule I am not a huge Tom’s Shoes fan. I love the idea of giving a pair of shoes to someone in need, but why do we have to give them ugly shoes? Isn’t it sad enough that they can’t afford shoes, can’t we give them some pretty ones. With that being said, this is a very gallant attempt to brighten up a pair of Tom’s. You have to love the wearer’s passion for helping the world that she is even willing to wear ugly shoes to do it. Happy is as happy does and these happy shoes are working to make little changes that will trigger bigger things to happen in order to make our planet a better place.
Editors Note: GRUMPY is NOT calling Beth Ann’s shoes ugly; She is call Tom’s shoes ugly. GRUMPY is calling Beth Ann’s shoes HAPPY. An important distinction!

The gal who owns this pair of beige shoes with smiley faces dotting the canvas is one of two types — perennially sunny of disposition, or someone who feels a strong need to cheer herself up with outward reminders!
The beige color tells me the owner of these shoes wanted footwear that would not be conspicuous. Something that would “go” with anything and everything in her closet. Something that wouldn’t scream, “Look at me!”
With a pair of shoes like this, one never has to worry whether one’s toesies are polished and ready to face the world. The little piece of elastic must provide ease of entry and exit, offering the owner an opportunity to slip them off and tuck her feet beneath her when she gets home from a day of running errands. I can almost see her sitting on her sofa, drinking a warm cuppa and relaxing before the spouse and kids get home!

All right, here’s my shoe revue you loafers! You all know I’m a straight laced guy so hold your tongues and toe the line while I explain this. You might not like it, but if the shoe fits . . .
A negative revue on these shoes would be patently unfair. I don’t mean to flip flop but these shoes got me a little tied up at first. I don’t want to make fun of your transgressions, because my policy is to never moccasin. I can’t back that up, I mean what a croc! Actually I am just trying to be instep with fashion. After all I don’t want to clog the flow of information. That would mean taps for my revue. These shoes are happy ones, but be careful that they aren’t side splitting. To be happy with these shoes would not be the greatest feet imaginable.
I’d like to say that I’ve come to some valuable conclusion but I’m a frayed knot. All I can say for sure is that if you like these shoes you probably need more time on the medication, at least until your fully heeled. When you’re ready go to the nearest Kinney shoe store, they are reasonably priced and have a great selection to boot. Remember, just because your down doesn’t mean you’re defeeted.
Even if you don’t like this revue, PLEASE, stiletto- us know how you feel.

Love it once again. I am SO impressed with Carolee shoes and feet! Well kept, polished and little toe rings too.
I know, right! Very snazzy. You don’t suppose….Nah.
According to your first factoid Abby reached her shoe limit some time ago. I guess it will be no more new shoes for her. How sad!
Poor Abby!!! And she is so young!
RED SHOES RAWK!
🙂 And that is all I have to say!

The shoe reviewers are very good. The poem is clever. When you train a Doberman you have to be able to run very fast.

It’s NOT a bear skin rug! It’s a very fine sheepskin throw on a footstool. Trinket loves it, especially when it’s cold enough for a fire. Have none of you ever seen a brown sheep?
MJ
It’s a lovely sheepskin throw. And even know I have never seen a brown sheep…I know one thing for sure Bears are grissley and that throw is very soft. Are you sure it’s not chinchilla? You are fast! Maybe, not as fast as you once were (broken ribs and all), but as fast once as you ever were!!
This is me, not making a black sheep joke.
Thank you. I’ll return the favor.
Marcie,
I have a sheepskin just like the one you have! It is a rich cafe brown, and very soft. Trinket is very lucky I don’t even let my kids snuggle under mine. They look nothing at all like a bears skin rug. And I like your shoes.
Ok. Let it be known, my grandparents had sheep on their farm and they had white sheep, black sheep, and brown sheep. Some sheep are spotted, but that is rare. This is clearly a sheepskin.Glad I could help.
Wait, Doesn’t Marcie have a Doberman…she has sheep, too? Well, I bet her flock is really well trained.
Yes, my mother has sheep. She sheers them on Friday, right after she does Trinket nails and whiskers. Wool in all colors, and when it’s time for the lamb chops, she makes Trinket lovely sheepskin throws. Naturally, she keeps a few to train in agility (you should see them do the weave poles!) and for her friends Boarder Collies.
Gotta love Marcie’s well-worn sneaks lying atop a bear rug! Gee, were we supposed to pose our shoes?? Now I’m wondering if I did it all wrong. Oh, well, I try!
Sheepskin rug!! 😀 Posing the shoes was not in the guidelines. No worries.

nothing like a worn pair of sneakers to run around in. so that’s what a sheepskin throw looks like. yeah, toasty! not a sandals person, but those look pretty comfy. those happy feet shoes are ready to go. i have a pair of socks that would compliment the heck out of them…..
Have you ever tried a pair of Keen sandals? I adore mine and have worn them everywhere. Matching Happy Face socks with Happy Face shoes? No. Love the shoes, Love the socks..together? No.
ok.
I’ve owned one pair of Toms and they fell apart. I would have felt bad sending them back, but I have never bought another pair. Beth Ann’s, Toms look very happy. Not everyone can pull off smiley face shoes, but I bet Beth Ann does it beautifully! Love the red sandals, but mostly love the toe jewelry and I’m jealous of the perfectly polished feet.
Great group of shoes.
Cole’s Toms feel apart too. I thought it had to do with him being to lazy to untie them. I didn’t send them back for the same reason—-mmmm. The rings on Carolee’s toes are a nice touch.
