(The Wiesen Viaduct is a single track limestone railway viaduct. It spans the Landwasser River southwest of the hamlet of Wiesen, in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Designed by the then chief engineer of the Rhaetian Railway, Henning Friedrich, it was built between 1906 and 1909 under the supervision of another engineer, Hans Studer. The Rhaetian Railway still owns and uses it today. The viaduct is 289 ft high, 669 ft long, and has a main span of 180 ft, which makes it one of the longest main spans of any masonry bridge.)

★~ Super Bowl Sunday:
The Super Bowl is the most watched American television broadcast, drawing more than 160 million viewers. That’s more than half the population! As a result, it also garners the highest advertising prices in the industry.
Beyond the game itself, the Super Bowl is famous for its commercials, its halftime show, and its ability to bring people together to celebrate. People consume 14,500 tons of chips and 8 million pounds of guacamole on Super Bowl Sunday. In fact, it is one of the biggest food consumption holidays, second only to Thanksgiving.
★~ Baked Alaska Day:
Baked Alaska, also called glace au four, omelette a la norvegienne, or Norwegian omelette, a dessert made with ice cream, sponge cake, and toasted meringue and is served with a long culinary history.
The concept of serving cream and cake together dates back to the Renaissance. The cooks of the era were the first to adorn their baked goods with a whipped topping. This laid the foundation for Baked Alaska, but it does not account for two of the dessert’s distinguishing characteristics—temperature and texture.
The Chinese were the first culture to cook pastry over an ice cream filling. Credit is also due to the American physicist Benjamin Thompson, who experimented with the heat resistance of beaten egg whites and discovered how to make meringue.

It’s been reported that her clothing is cute, colorful and contained. No fall out.

★~Super Bowl Gallimaufry:
Seahawks:
Tragically, the club’s first owner—millionaire Lloyd W. Nordstrum—never actually got to see his squad play: He died of a heart attack on January 20, 1976, eight months before the team’s first game kicked off.
How loud can CenturyLink Field get? Loud enough to set a Guinness world record. In 2013, Hawks rooters emitted the “loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium” ever documented by generating 137.6 decibels’ worth of full throated cheering.
Last year, Russell Wilson—all 5-ft. 10-in. of him—became the shortest quarterback to have ever won the Super Bowl.
Seattle fullback Derrick Coleman is the first legally deaf offensive player in NFL history
Knowing Lynch’s love of gobbling up Skittles on the sidelines, Mars Incorporated offered him a two-year supply and a personalized dispenser. Taste the rainbow
Patriots:
The Patriots final game at Alumni Stadium was rudely interrupted when a popcorn machine caught fire, scattering a large section of the crowd (thankfully, no one was hurt).
Upon leaving for Foxborough, MA in 1971, they were re-christened as “The Bay State Patriots.” The name was rejected when people pointed out the abbreviation would be “The B.S. Patriots.”
On a harsh, wintry day in 1982, snowplow operator Mark Henderson become a New England folk hero by clearing a patch of field for Patriots kicker John Smith, whose late field goal slew the visiting Miami Dolphins. Incidentally, at the time, Henderson was there on work release from prison.
He may be a future Hall of Famer, but during his collegiate days, nobody would’ve mistaken Patriots QB Tom Brady for a big-shot. At one point, Brady was the seventh quarterback on the University of Michigan’s depth chart.
Head coach Bill Belichick—who won two Super Bowl titles as an assistant coach with the Giants and three as head coach of the Pats—owns a boat he calls “V Rings.” He hopes to re-name it “VI Rings” after today.

I am writing this on Saturday night whilst the snow is lightly falling. Chicago expected snowfall is between 11-13 inches ending on Monday. Did I mention I was leaving on a jet plane for Albuquerque on Monday? Usually I love weather, thunderstorms, blizzards, and polar vortex’s. I surrender and enjoy. But I would really like to leave as planned on Monday. So while I generally don’t prepare for weather beyond making sure we have hot chocolate and mini marshmallows, for this pending blizzard, I bought food, made bread, baked chocolate chip cookies and made sure the snow blower is gassed up. Yes, I am trying to fool mother nature with a little bit of reverse psychology, in hope that she will not snow on my travel plans. . .to be continued.
Don’t forget to say Rabbit Rabbit to add a little luck to your February. If you forgot just say it while you hop backwards twice.
Superbowl Sunday! Who are you cheering for? And even more important what are you munching on?
Odd Loves Company,
Here’s to travel plans staying intact and no deviations! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I am traveling on Thursday so hopefully we will both get to our destinations! It is always a challenge this time of year, right? But now I have to go listen to Louie Louie to see why it is pornographic!
Well, now my fingers are crossed for you.
Beth Ann you are just a bad girl waiting to happen. I can help! Ha.
Clark Gable died way too young! I think he’s probably everybody’s vision of Rhett Butler.
Here’s hoping Mother Nature cooperates and you can get out of the Windy City and back to warmth and desert!
I’ve never had Baked Alaska, but I love meringue, so I should probably try it, huh??
I’m still full from lunch, so I can’t even begin to think what I’ll be eating during the Super Bowl. I don’t have a dog in that race, but I always love watching those expensive commercials.
Safe travels, Kb!!
I agree. Nobody else can be Rhett!
Baked Alaska. I am pretty sure it would suit your taste. And it’s a very pretty dessert. On the other hand you might end up wishing you’d just had a dish of ice cream.
What about that game! I wanted Patriots to win because Brady so darn cute. On the other hand I felt sorry for the Seahawks. Sigh. Why can’t they just tie it up, give everyone rings and head to Disney?
Late to the party. Rooted for the Pats……..what a game! It was fun watching Tom Brady jumping around like a little boy on the sidelines after the interception! Good for him!
