★~ El Morno!

Since the summer of 2009, I have posted “El Morno” on my Facebook profile page every morning at around 6am. Slowly but surely, friends show up with their “cuppa” whatever, wiping the sleep out of their eyes. Our Aussie friend, who is ending her day when we are beginning ours, wishes us all a  buona notte.

As we gather on El Morno, we catch up a little, laugh a little, and commiserate a little (a little more on Mondays and a little less on Fridays). Even those of us with children who need to be woken up, shaken off, and pushed out the door often stop by briefly to chat. Our chit-chats are usually 30 to 60 comments long, and our night nurse friends often drop by after they get home from work to keep EL Morno going until late into the morning.

I have decided to post EL Morno on Odd as well as Facebook. Feel free to drop by with your favorite “cuppa” whatever and browse Odd Holidays, This Day in History, Celebrity and Historical Birthdays, and Did You Know. Feel free to chat in the comment section of Odd.  Odd always enjoys your company and promises to chat back. In time, maybe others will join us. If they don’t we will tell secrets and talk about them!

I should warn you that I don’t have a lot invested in El Morno’s accuracy. I am more concerned with showing up and offering some fun at the start of each day. Sometimes my dates are wrong on El Morno — once I referred to Saturday as Friday and caused a general panic until a level-headed person actually checked the calendar. Always check the calendar, okay?

Oh… your comment about having friends eye you suspiciously if you see that movie cracked me up. Take them along. They’ll either love you for the recommendation or steer clear of you from now on.
