★~ Today’s Quote: I’ve had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn’t it. ~ Groucho Marx
One of the best-known grouches of modern history is Oscar, a Muppet character first introduced on “Sesame Street” in 1969. Like all grouches, Oscar’s mission in life is to be as miserable and grumpy as possible. He complains about everything, then wants to pass that feeling on to everyone else. When a visitor knocks on his trash can – invariably interrupting him from a nap or an important task – Oscar greets them with a snarl. He’s a grumpy old fart, always complaining that he wants to be left alone.
Some times the best favor you can do for a grouch is leave them alone to suffer their own company. And sometimes a grouch just needs a hug and a distraction to have a better day…A few suggestions for grumpy days are down below.
★~ Almond Day:
Go Nuts! Have a tasty good for you almond! Almonds are packed full of vitamin E, magnesium, and fiber, and can help lower cholesterol. While they are native to the Middle East and South Asia, the state of California, produces 80% of the world’s supply of almonds.
The crunchy almond can be served roasted with a little sea salt. Or you can spice them up with cumin and cayenne; enjoy them spicy-sweet in a honey-sesame crust, or cover them with a combination of vanilla, sugar and cinnamon. I like mine cover in chocolate!

I think I need a day alone without work..I’d be MUCH less grumpy then!
Good luck to Cole and his school tonight at opening night! It will be WONDERFUL!
I think we are all less grumpy on our day’s off!
My trusty alarm did not go off. I am not only grump but I got up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe some honey roasted almonds will help.
Gads, this has been a long week. Break a leg Cole!
Hope your day improved Mike. Looks like it had no place to go but UP!
I’m not grumpy and I can’t eat almonds. Sigh! But here’s wishing Cole and his class a splendid opening night!
I am going to start to put after every nut day..Sorry Debbie this day is not for you..it’s so ingrained in me that every time I post about nuts..I feel a little bad 🙂 but just a little because I LOVE NUTS….
So, are you taping the play? I mean, since you video the dogs, I don’t want Cole to get a complex. (More probably, he’d stop the play and demand you lay down that camera. :))
Reckless drying? Sooooooo bad!
I take pictures and tape every moment of every event. When the kids that have grown up with Cole see me coming they just shrug, move closer together and smile. Joe always said if the house caught fire I would grab my cameras before Cole which is not true! I would have to grab Cole and the pups because he would be busy putting on his shoes–
I know you were amazing in the play. Can’t wait to see you.
