★~ Today’s Quote: “I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.” William Penn
★~ Pig Day: Snort Snort:
In honor of pig day I lined up some of the finest pig snorters of all time. Please click Pigs! We salute you with our Snorts! I promise you will be amazed at there exsnortinary snorting ability.
★~ Peanut Butter Lovers Day:
Yes, we did just celebrate Peanut Butter Day on January 24th, if you remember, we established that good people ate chunky peanut butter and evil people preferred plain peanut butter. However, today is Peanut Butter Lover’s day—a day for the people who can taste the difference between Jiffy peanut butter and Peter Pan peanut butter, who order a PB sandwich leaving off the J, who would hunt down and do bodily harm to the family member who took the first dip into the peanut butter jar.
If you are a peanut butter lover, we salute you today by sharing the recipe for Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies! And we promise to look the other way when you eat peanut butter straight out of the jar. Just don’t double dip, please.
★~ Today in History:
♥~ 1803 – Ohio (17th state) became a state. Columbus is the capital. Nicknamed, The Buckeye State (nicknamed because of the many buckeye trees, the state tree). ♥~ A sow can give birth to a litter containing 7 to 12 piglets, about twice a year. The gestation period of a sow is 114 days (3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days).
♥~ A baby pig, or piglet, weighs about 3 pounds at birth and will double its weight in just 7 days.
♥~ Weaning occurs at three months of age, but young pigs continue to live with their mothers. Two or more sows usually join together in an extended family.
♥~ Pigs are very clean animals. They keep their toilets far from their living or eating area. Even piglets only a few hours old will leave the nest to relieve themselves.
♥~ Pigs do not sweat. They don’t glow either. Pigs have very few sweat glands; to control their temperature they huddle in the cold, and pant or wallow when it gets hot.
♥~ Pigs are highly intelligent. Like dogs, they can be easily housebroken, taught to fetch and come to heel. Pigs can learn to dance, race, pull carts and sniff out land-mines

Emily and I are on day 240 of our Food Of The Day Goal. We try and eat the food of the day every day. It has been 92 days since my last Food Of The Day Muse. Time Flies. We have lots of pictures…Here are a few and I will be posting more very soon. Emily and her WoW children are truly Food of the Day Warriors.
February 5: World Nutella Day
Day 215
February 19: Mint Chocolate Day
Day: 229
February 27: Kahlua Day
Day: 237
Emily, Wow Mom to Five, tip: “Celebrate all grown-up drink days to there fullest. It is always five-o-clock somewhere.” Did I mention that Emily recently took a part-time job outside the home?
Shout Out to @Mary Lee-Merrilymarylee’s, my Odd Family has it on good authority that you are in possession of a fine, fine snort that should be preserved for posterity. . .
Have a snortacular Thursday.
Leave a comment, Leave a snort…..Odd Loves Company.
I always start the morno with a good snort. Isabel, I have never head Mary Had A Little Lamb snorted so beautifully. Brought a tear to my eye.
Having a piece of toast with peanut butter.
Take care!
Mike are you being sarcastic? A tear to your eye?
Love toast with peanut butter!
Hi Mike! Have not been up and on the computer this early for awhile. Love pig day. The snorts are great.
Now let’s talk about the Justin Bieber. There is Who music you could have posted! Justin Bieber, really?
Sorry–Bieber is 18 today. Seem more “news” worthy.
Good to see you bright and early!
That was tons of fun! Love you. Hope you get that snort from Mary Lee.
Still have some of the honey-roasted peanut butter (I believe it qualifies as chunky!) for you at my house.
YAY. Guess we need to schedule that coffee date!
Known forever for her magnificent snorting ability!
♥
I didn’t know all that about pigs. I’d heard that they’re clean animals, but I thought somebody was just pulling my leg. Still, I wouldn’t want one as a pet indoors!
Pigs are amazing. I would love to have one for a pet but I agree I think a farm is better place for a pet pig. Do you remember Arnold on Green Acres?
Jif Extra Crunchy on Celery. YUM!
YUM!! Great combination.
In honor Peanut Butter Day, I will indulge in the peanut butter Girl Scout cookies that are calling my name! 🙂
Paula, I had several myself! Those girl scouts get around.
Oh No, I had a PB&J yesterday on my way to agility!!!
MJ
Sigh! I tol you and I tol you…no J on Peanut Butter days!
♥
We certainly DO have a snorter, disguised as a cocker spaniel. To complete the disguise, she is rotund, despite our best efforts. She is AMAZING in her resourcefulness in finding food. If land mines smelled like peanut butter, the Pentagon would be calling.
She is also a snorer, but then again… so am I.
Love Miss Piggy. She would make a funny character in a Children’s book. I have a lot of snorers around here. My living room positively rumbles at night!
