★~ Life Sucks Day:

Have you met Sucktopia? A giant monster who reaches out and snatches your “Life is Good” t-shirt and replaces it with a “Life Sucks” t-shirt?

Today we give Sucktopia her due and acknowledge that co-workers who are professionally inept and socially repugnant suck; family and friend who are ill tempered, dimwitted misfits, psychos, and felons suck; and medical insurance, gas prices, and taxes flat out suck.

★~ Take A Wild Guess Day:

A celebration of hunches, guesses, and gut feelings. Can you guess the answer to this question?

A rooster laid an egg on top of the barn roof. Which way did it roll?

★~ Rubber Eraser Day:

Rubber eraser

Without the invention of the rubber eraser, our faux pas would not be erased, and our documents and drawings would be messy. We would live in a constant state of “do over.”  Today we are grateful for the invention of erasers!

★~ Glazed-Spiral Ham Day:

The spiral-ham slicer was invented in the mid 1950s by Harry Hoenselaar, who not incidentally also founded the HoneyBaked Ham Company. Good to know, right?

♥~ Use travel delay as opportunity to stop rather than get stressed. When the world stands still, let it.

♥~ Whenever your spouse says something the first thing you should hear is “I love you want to spend my life with you”.

♥~ Try and give people the benefit of the doubt if they snap at you. Might be something going on you don’t know about.

♥~ Wash your bowl immediately after eating!

♥~  Before you go to bed, write down 3 things that you want to do the following day.

that month rolls around and you still want it, OK.

♥~  Smiling … seems to help with most things. 🙂

♥~ Allow extra time in your schedule for wandering.

♥~ Don’t fold clothes. Saves time and hassle.

♥~ QTIP: quit taking it personally.

♥~ To avoid cluttering: After any activity, put everything in place. It only takes 5 minutes vs. 3 hours if you allowed to pile things up.

  1. Morno,
Well at least the weekend didn’t suck and taxes are already mailed. Adam Scott won the Masters and I was glad to see it. Ham sandwich, maybe. Big fan of pencils with erasers that work.
Time to hit the road. Have a good one.

  2. Good Morno,
No school today. I’m not even sure why, but the kids are content in front of mindless television while I sort out our day. Always love ham. I’m hoping Sucktopia doesn’t bang on my door. I’m pretty sure I know the answer to the riddle, but since I am only the second comment I will let someone step forward with the answer.
Love the tips, especially the one about lipstick. 😀
    Merry Monday back at ya.

  3. what an appropriate day for life sucking & wild guessing! your poor mom was the recipient of my airing it out last evening. it ain’t over yet…. great tips, though, to ease frustration!
i do like ham & erasers on pencils! see? bright spots there!
    good day!

    • Well, I’m sorry today met your expectations and it has been sucky. I’m sure you will come out on the right side of it tho. There is always a bright spot or two…but somedays it can be harder to find than others.

  4. Love your Good to Know tips! I hadn’t heard that about the lipstick before. I just love learning things from my bloggy friends!
George C. Scott was a wise man. Awards shows are still “meat parades.”
By the way, Roosters Don’t Lay Eggs!!!

  5. I’m guessing it rolled down. I love the 5 minute decision advice. I will try to take that to heart today and if my day is less sucky as a result, I shall try to implement it every day.

      • You are going to make a very good lawyer! I just read something about decision overload…we get to a point where we just shut down. I believe it!

    • That is a good one. Recently I had to remind myself that it wasn’t always all about me….hard to believe, tho 😀
