Bittersweet Chocolate Day

Bird enthusiast Skjalg-Helmer Vian (14) from Vadsø, Norway was reading about the Grey-headed chickadee (Poecile cinctus) when an actual one swooped in to see what all the fuss was about. The boy’s father, Geir Arne Vian captured, the amazing photo opp and the image has been circulating online as of late.

The grey-headed chickadee, also known as the Siberian tit, is widespread throughout subarctic Scandinavia and northern Asia, and also into North America in Alaska and the far northwest of Canada. Curiously (with respect to its name), the bird has no grey on its head, which is black, white, and brown.

  1. That bird landing on his own picture is an amazing coincidence. I wonder if he was happy at the rendition of himself.
    Bittersweet chocolate cake looks good.
Bad baby bear. Glad Mama bear didn’t waste anytime pulling him out of traffic.
I’ll watch the video later. Lunch and then off to play some golf. Beautiful day in our neighborhood.

    • The bird and the picture was really an uncanny experience, wasn’t it?
Mama bear was on top of it that’s for sure.
Hope you had a wonderful afternoon!

  2. I’ll have to watch the money tips later — already behind, thanks to having to run errands this morno, then walk the darling doggie!

No, I haven’t dropped a mug yet. Still considering the possibility (perhaps that’s part of my problem, sitting on the fence, you know!)

    • Running errands never ending.
The mug exercise seems to bring out “stops” even before you do it and I think a lot of people skip it all together.

  3. Great boy, book, bird picture. Only in Norway!
Not a bittersweet chocolate fan. Need the sweetness.
Tunnel of Love is one of my favorite Springsteen tunes. A little on the dark side, but it is what it is.
Joni Mitchell = Roberta Anderson? Ok, I can see that. Like some of her songs, too.
Cooling down here, too, finally. Nik & I both give our thanks!

    • I agree – just eat chocolate!
The name Joni Mitchell seems to fit her better.
Glad cool weather has come your way. We are suppose to be hit by some arctic weather next week but I think we have a few more weeks of fall left. I hope so.
