Don’t be an April Fool! Be Prepared!  Back up your computer on March 31st! And always remember to sign-out at the Apple Store! And don’t fall for the very well run IRS telephone scam that is going around AGAIN (no accent, no call center lag, and they usually assault you with some accurate information about you!) Bad People! Just a few added cavats.

In 1852,  Robert Bunsen, a German scientist  began working at the University of Heidelberg. He was trying to isolate chemical substances and soon became frustrated with the inefficient and smoky heat sources that were available in the laboratory. To solve the problem, he drew up plans for a burner that would mix gas and air prior to ignition. The result was the Bunsen burner, which is now used in laboratories all over the world.

Bunsen burners (along with Teclu burners and Meker burners) produce a smokeless blue flame at very high temperatures. Scientists use these types of burners for heating, combustion, and sterilization.

Are you feeling bold today? In a “why not?” sort of mood? Well then, eat clams the way sharks and squid do — raw and in their shell. Not feeling that bold? Well, feel free to have your clams fried, baked, or boiled. You can also add them to chowder or pasta!

♥~ 1889 – The Eiffel Tower opened in Gay Paree. A beautiful sight, no? Well, not so to writers, Guy deMaupassant and Alexandre Dumas who condemned the Eiffel Tower as a “horrid nightmare.” The Eiffel Tower was named after its designer, architect, Alexandre Gustave Eiffel who built the structure for the Paris Exhibition of 1889.

♥~ 1951- There’s an old joke that goes like this: A bunch of scientists created a huge machine capable of complex calculations and called it UNIVAC. Eager to test their invention, they asked it, “Is there a God?” The vacuum tubes hummed and the tape spools spun for several minutes. Finally, the machine spit out a little card, on which was written, “THERE IS NOW.” On this day in 1951, the Remington Rand Corporation signed a contract to deliver the first UNIVAC computer to the U.S. Census Bureau. UNIVAC I (which stands for Universal Automatic Computer) took up 350 square feet of floor space — about the size of a one-car garage — and was the first American commercial computer.

♥~ 1984 – Kenny Loggins started a three week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Footloose’, the theme from the film with the same name, a No.6 hit in the UK.

Rabbit

Today is the last day of the March and you know what that means don’t you?  It’s time to prepare for the first of the month and all that can be yours by simple saying  ”rabbit, rabbit!” The first words out of your mouth on the first day of April must be “rabbit, rabbit.” Get those post-a-note reminders ready!

I’m off to spend the last day of the Month hangin’ with our day campers at Prairie Wolf, which will be followed by 6 baths at the self-service dog wash. Cole and I can now give 6 baths in about an hour. And I am talking about mud covered pup baths.  We draw a crowd at the wash window as we suds, scrub, rinse, dry and repeat. I’m thinking about offering to let the store sell tickets and refreshments in exchange for free washes. People could also bet on our final time. The possibilities are endless!

Have a wonderful day! And don’t forget to Rabbit! Rabbit!

  1. Good Morno,
I’m glad you decided to pay us a visit. Despite staying in touch other ways it is always a nice start to the morning when El Morno shows up.
Funny video. I’d want the pup that goes for it to be on my team.
Rainy day here today. Good day to hit the office paper work pile. Have a good one.

    • Good to be visiting. Yes, there is something to be said for seizing the moment! Opposed to waiting for it to happen.
We’ve had a lot of rain too. Ready for a bit of sunshine.
      Don’t forget to Rabbit!

  2. Had to laugh at the pup clip! Don’t you know Dallas would be the “pig” snatching the Pupperoni off the obedient dog’s nose??

I’m most impressed at you and Cole washing 6 dogs in an hour’s time. Yes, definitely, you should charge admission for folks to watch. Let them take bets on how long it will take. Perhaps offer Coke and popcorn — hey, if you’re gonna draw a crowd anyway, might as well have fun with it!

Rabbit! Rabbit! My note goes on my phone so I won’t forget. Dallas, of course, is starting to wonder if his name has been changed to Rabbit!!

    • Yes, most of my pups would go for the the food too. Of-course it is also a blessing since I can teach most tricks using food as an incentive.
Rabbit! Rabbit! on your phone is a most excellent way to remind yourself.
