Cole and I both load dishes, plates, glasses, spoon, knifes, forks, glasses, mugs (you get the idea, right?) into the dishwasher.
This morning when I open the dishwasher the bottom rack looked like this…..
- Dishes alternating colors.
- Utensils equally distributed.
- Plates start with large and move towards smaller sizes.
- Large plates one side, smaller plates the other side.
- Bowls around the side of the plates.
- Pan lids in back facing in.
and the top rack looked like this….
- Tall glasses in the last row
- Smaller glasses next row
- Misc in the middle
- Mugs together on right
- One tall glass on each end of the last.
… I sighed at its beauty, almost forgetting Cole promised to unload it last night. If I have not taught him responsibility, at least, I’ve taught him the art of loading a beautiful dishwasher. His future wife will thank me. I think. He needs to choose her carefully.
Odd Loves Company,
Ah, that’s a thing of beauty! You must be so proud. I can fully appreciate it because, as you know, I’m a Virgo, and that’s the way I try to load a dishwasher. Everybody else in this family, however, just crams stuff in willy-nilly and says, “Who cares? It all washes.” Humph, maybe. But I care! Well done!
Thank you Debbie. I feel your dishwasher pain and seen searing looks to the willy-nilly offenders.
Wow. Is all I can say. Our dishwasher does not look like this and my kids don’t remember to load or unload. We are working on it! I should tape this picture on my cabinet for inspiration and to remind myself I am not the only one with OCD tendencies. 😀
OCD TENDENCIES? I think not!! Just an appreciation for orderly beauty!! So There. ♥
I totally get it!!! It is a work of art. In every way. His future wife will indeed thank you!
Thank you!! Well she might thank me IF Cole follows my advice and does not even consider marrying a slob. Unless of-course she is rich..and then they can hire someone to load their dishes. … 😀
nicely done! i can appreciate the orderliness. makes total sense to me.
Thank you! And it is so easy to load the dishes on to the shelf with alternating colors.
Cole get the award for the best loading of a dishwasher I have EVER seen. You must be very proud of his accomplishments.
Lol…well yes…now if we could just work on unloading it. You know, it’s always something. These are the kinds of things I brag about in my Christmas letter to out of town people I don’t see, talk too or on Facebook but still exchange Christmas cards with… I would love to be a fly on the wall when they read the letter….
I’m jealous. My dishwasher went on the fritz about five years ago. We bought a replacement right away, and paid in advance to have it installed. However the one that went on the fritz was not done properly (it was a DIY gone horribly awry, which I didn’t discover until AFTER I bought the house). The guy actually took the $20 in cash out of his pocket to reimburse us for what we had paid Home Dephen or installation when we bought the new one. He wished us luck. Of course, because it’s not up to code we can’t get a contractor to install it. And we don’t have the money for a kitchen redo. So there it sits, in all it’s new glory, a shiny dishwasher. On the bright side, it makes an awesome pantry that locks and we store all our dry goods there – pasta, rice, beans, etc. It’s the ONLY storage place Joey has not figured out how to open. And, my hands are lovely and soft from all the dish washing I do. But still, I’m jealous.
Joanne…I know a guy, who is a contractor familiar with that kind of work…I am sure something could be worked out if you were interested. He doesn’t worry to much about code between friends. In fact it is possible his brillent son and Cole could install it. I also know a plumber…same story. Let me know.
On the other hand using it as an awesome panty is very clever of you! Joey…don’t even get me started.
