TWO WOLVES
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
“One is Evil – It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
“The other is God – It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Thank you!!

Nice! I think I’m going to go feed my God Wolf right now!
You go girl!!
I was familiar with this story and it is so appropriate for us all. The native American’s have such a lovely culture we can learn much from their example.
They do and we can! Thanks for dropping by Nancy.
Love this! Thank you, thank you, thank you, KB!
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! 😀
So true. And worth remembering.
Love this story. Great image–two big wolfs…both hungry facing you with the choice of which one to give in and feed.
It is really a struggle to do the things I know I ort to do. The first wolf (evil) is the easiest to feed. But the God one is the easiest to be around. I love this story. It makes us reflect on what we want to be, nice to be around, or the one people wants to avoid. I strive to feed the God like wolf. I hope to starve the evil wolf to death one day. Wish me luck!!!!!
A lovely allegorical tale – I do love stories like this.
Thanks for posting this, Katybeth…simple stories are often the best!
