It’s an Adjective! I adopted a word!
I love words. I love using my words. My lack of spelling skills only adds to a more colorful relationship between words and me. Imagine my delight when I leaned I could adopt a word from the Save The Word organization.
Adopting a word is easy. It’s free. You don’t even have to promise to spell it correctly. The only promise you make is to love and enjoy your word and frequently take it out to play with its friends (conversation and writing.)
Words like obarmate, gleimous, jobler, quaeritate, blateration (I love this word! I must have it! ) are eagerly waiting for the forever-after-homes you can provide.
Today I adopted a new word. Who knows? Tomorrow I may adopt a comma! Join me! Adopt your new word today and let’s plan a word date soon!
Thanks to Herding Cats in Hammond River for sharing such a “wordthy” site!
I would love to hear from you in the comment section of this blog, or on Facebook or Twitter! Glad you were in my Odd neighborhood. Feel free to drop by any time. Odd Loves Company and odd loves you and you and you!!

pigritude is my word of the day. I’m too ‘lazy’ (its def) to adopt it, but I happily give it some life here!
Somehow, I knew you would like this one. Its a fun site and I have never known you to indulge in pigritude. LOL.
😀
Thanks for the shoutout, Katybeth!
“wordthy site”…Love it!

Kb–you gotta like my word lardlet! A piece of bacon used to enrich meat. Can you just dig it?
I dig it!
Locupletative. You don’t even know what it means do you?
I don’t but I’ll look it up.
I adopted graviloquence. I will call him Quence for short and by the way my word is much cuter than anyone else’s word.
Nice. I am sure your word is very cute. But all words are adorable.
Linda you better take that back and make resarciate or my word is going to kick your words butt!
Ladies, please use your words.
pamphagous—My word is bigger than your word. Ha Ha Ha.
Ha. Ha. Ha. 😀
I adopted ten-cent-store. Could not resist. By the way its really three words–which means…its bigger and better than anyone else’s words. So there.
Very nice word. This adopt a word site no longer exists but your word lives on!
Oh my! So many words, so little time! They were all shouting for attention that I found it quite unsettling. In the end, I chose ‘cynicocratical’, my namesake in spelling only. It means pertaining to rule by cynics. A cynic is a person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest rather than acting for honorable or unselfish reasons. Which begs the question, aren’t we all motivated by selfish reasons?
Such a good question that I have been pondering it for 4 years without finding the answer. I’ll get back to you eventually tho! ♥
My word is smarter than any of the others up above. Here is the sentence. “They met at a sianonology convention and later enjoyed a romantic evening dining on goats head soup.” (siagonology-study of jaw bones). Very important word.
I was so gobsmacked by this word that I never let you know how much I liked your choice of words. Is it too late to say congratulations! Your word must have grown a lot by now.
Intrinsic.
Its a lovely word Bill!!
Vicambulate: To walk about in the streets. When visiting a new city I find nothing more enjoyable than to simply vicambulate by the hour.
