★~ World Kindness Day:
No matter where we are, today is our day to change the world with one simple act of kindness.C onceptual physics teaches us that the world has a “matching program.” Each time we are kind (the world does not judge big or small) our kindness is repeated somewhere in the world. Celebrate today by being kind in a worldly sort of way.
“The Paradoxical Commandments
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”

★~ National Indian Pudding Day:
Indian pudding is custard made with molasses, cornmeal, milk, butter, spices, eggs, and sometimes apples. Once baked, Indian pudding looks like an inedible mush, but after one bite rumor has it you will be hooked!
This recipe has been around for centuries. Early American colonists did not have the necessary ingredients to make plum pudding, so they created an alternative using cornmeal. Indian pudding is still a popular dessert around New England and other parts of the country.

♥~ 1805 – The people of Vienna (Wien), Austria point to the word wiener to prove their claim as the birthplace of the hot dog. It is said that master sausage maker Johann George Lehner, who made the first wiener this day, received his early training in Frankfurt, Germany. He called his sausage the wiener-frankfurter. But it was generally known as wienerwurst. The word wiener comes from Wien (the German name of Vienna) and wurst means sausage in German.

★~Good to Know:
An act of kindness turns a dumpster dog into a climbing companion extraordinaire
Say hello to Rupee, the formerly homeless pup who was found starving in a dump in India. His owner, Joanne Lefson, rescued him and helped nurse him back to health, feeding him a high protein diet of boiled eggs and rice. After making a full recovery he accompanied Joanne on her Mt Everest climb. When he tired during the journey he had his own hired porter to carry him.
Rupee is believed to be the first dog to ever climb Everest. But the pup also had another kind of first experience while climbing the world’s tallest mountain: Snow!

Good Morno,
Indian pudding sounds like a hearty dessert. Sounds like Rupee has made the most of his life since his rescue. Wonder what’s next in his bucket list. Cute dog.
Powerful video. God Bless them all.
Donuts for the office crew.
Swimming with sharks?
Donuts!! My kind of kindness!
Morno,
Wow, what a gift those families gave one another. Not to mention the encouragement it will give those considering donating organs.
Challenged my kids to join me in secret acts of kindness today and report back at dinner. Of-course, this should happen every day but it a good reminder for us all.
Rupee is a wonder dog! So glad he had a second chance.

I thought about the boost in organ donors too—If that video doesn’t encourage people to sign a donor card nothing will.
How did it go with the kids? Great challenge.
Rupee looks so happy doesn’t he?
Hi Katybeth, I’m here from Beth Ann’s blog. I had no idea that today was all about kindness. That’s my kind of day–okay, the pun was unintentional, sort of!
Can’t wait to follow you. You sound like a blogger after my own blogger’s heart!
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
So happy to meet you Kathy, glad Beth Ann’s post did not send you running in the opposite direction. What an introduction 😀
Puns? You like puns? You’ll fit into this Odd family for sure.
I stopped by to see you too—You’ve certainly had your share of adventures. I look forward to reading more.
Hugs back at you.

Amazing video. Amazing selflessness on the part of of the donors; amazing gratitude on the part of the recipients.
Indian pudding doesn’t look too appetizing to me. One can only hope it tastes better than it looks!
Rupee looks so happy — good for him getting rescued; good for his new owner getting such a good companion!
Press-on fingernails? Shudder. What a bad idea!
Indian pudding kind of reminds me of Oatmeal in an evil sort of way.
Isn’t Rupee cute and what a life he landed into!
You never wore press on fingernails as a teen? I loved mine. They never stayed on, but for an hour I was quiet the femme fatale!
I had avoided watching that video on Facebook. Darn it, Katybeth!!! 🙂 Seriously that is the definition of kind. Funny thing—I am joining in a blog thing on NOvember 21st for Label Day and guess what “label” I chose for myself??? Kind.
You will wear that label perfectly!
I set up all tables & chairs at a meeting last night…….my kind deed.
That Indian Pudding looks pretty filling. With apples I would try it.
Good for Rupee after such a deplorable beginning. What the hell is the matter with people? They are the true animals.
Will view video tonight. Reviews are excellent.
Good day a day late!
Most excellent kind deed. Joe always volunteer for table and chair set-up at the school meetings and fairs. Of-course, he never stayed for the meeting and only briefly attended events (he wasn’t that kind) that was my job but he was happy to set-up.
Apples could be added the pudding and I am certain the Native American community would approve.
