★~ Animal Cracker Day:
Lions and tigers, and bears and elephants… OH MY! Who doesn’t love the crunch and sweetness of an animal cracker?
Animal-shaped crackers were first brought to the United States during the late 1800’s. The demand for these treats skyrocketed so bakers began to produce them domestically. Stauffer’s Biscuit Company was the first company to produce animal crackers in 1871 in York, Pennsylvania. Other local bakeries soon came together under the National Biscuit Company, or “Nabisco Brands.” It was not until 1902 though that the animal cracker’s box débuted its “Barnum’s Animals” circus theme.
~ Lions, Tigers and Bears have always been a part of the animal cracker family. A total of 37 different animals have been featured over the years.
~ Nabisco sells over 40 million boxes of animal crackers each year
If you would like to make your own click Animal Cracker Cookies recipe. I’m not sure why you would want to go the trouble when those animals crackers in the circus box are so tasty.

I am not a fan of how Jello tastes, but I do think this looks pretty.
Pour Jell-o in your deviled egg holder and put in the fridge. When set up put a little whipped cream on them.
I have not forsaken Peeps this Easter season, but after last year’s Peepathon I’m pacing myself. I have indulged in Peeps with chocolate feet. I strongly recommend them.
Cole’s Spring break starts today and and tomorrow he’ll fly to New Mexico to spend a few days with his sweet grandparents. He made certain to let them know his was leaving a letter for the Easter Bunny letting him know where to leave his Easter basket. Cole has always been a bit slow finding the eggs, I suspect this year a little healthy competition between him and his grandmother’s Doberman will encourage him to hunt a little faster.
If you are interested in knowing a little more about the Holy Days leading up to Easter Sunday, El Morno Friend and blogger Debbie wrote an interesting post Why Do Catholics Do That?.
This Chicago Morno is bright and beautiful and I’m off to enjoy it! Hope you have a beautiful Friday too!
Odd Loves Company
Hey, thanks for the shoutout! Those Jello eggs are pretty and practical — can’t break ’em, ha!
Thanks for the juggling how-to, too. That’s kind of the way I thought one would do it, but it’s interesting to see it step by step.
Hope Cole has a safe trip and an enjoyable visit. You’ll be without your darling boy, too, huh??
Happy Easter (and now I’ll slink back into my self-imposed blogging-break!)
My pleasure. Timely and interesting post.
True, IF you like Jello. It reminds me of hospital food.
I bet you could juggle if so inclined. Give it a try.
Yep, Cole is heading to New Mexico for a few days. I suspect it is much worse when you aren’t spending as much time together. 😀
Enjoy your break!
Morno,
Jello eggs look great. I’ll admit to being a fan of all things jello. My Mom use to make a wonderful layered jello something. Video was funny.
Animal crackers are tasty. How did Cole pick up juggling?
I’m off until Tuesday. Weather is still rainy and the lightening is keeping up off the course. Hoping for a better day tomorrow. In the meantime I’ll improve my game with an eye doctor appointment and new glasses.
Have a good one.
A fan of all things Jello? Really??
Cole was born juggling. No fooling he picked up three tangerines when he was about 5 and juggled them. He could catch before he could walk. Odd but true.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the weather improves. Suppose to be a beautiful day in Chicago today (Sat).
I don’t mind munching on animal crackers once in a while. Sometimes difficult to discern the animal!
Those jello eggs look pretty good actually. Who knew?
I’m sure Cole will have a fantastic time in NM. Yeah, Trinket will give Cole a run for his money finding Easter eggs!
Today was one of the work make up days for the two *wintery mix* days in February. That’s all I’ll say about that.
Good afternoon!
Well that doesn’t make up for a very good Friday—unless a lot of kids were out for religious reasons.
Cole had better pick up his egg hunting speed. I have first hand knowledge of how fast she is—I’ve played not you see my bagel and now you don’t with her more than once.
BTW hiding those plastic eggs with goodies in them is a fun dog game if you haven’t ever played with Nik it might be a fun Easter Morno game.
You can dress it up anyway you want to but I’m not falling for the Jello deal.
Animal crackers are a treat any day of the week.
We can’t wait for Cole to arrive. Let the good times roll.
Happy Easter everyone.

I know Jello is Jello is Jello.
Packed and ready to roll!
