★~ Storytelling Day:
Storytelling is such a wonderful way for human beings to connect. A story told without props, power points, media or even read from a book but has been memorized or told from experience establishes a relationship of the heart and nourishes the soul and the spirit of both the teller and the listener. Celebrate today by hearting someone with a story.

If you live with a cat, chances are that you have heard a retching hacking sound coming from your cat at one time or another. Don’t ignore it: hairballs at the very least are unpleasant to your cat and at the worst can create severe problems. For more information about hairballs, watch this short video.

♥~ When you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go. Just hope that the porta potty doesn’t decide to go when you have to.

One of the top comments: “He’s crying because being a Cubs fan, he is not used to getting what he wants.” This could be true too.

Yesterday, my teen and I took a trip to Menards and found a helpful hardware man who helped us hunt and gather materials to replace a gate that went to it’s demise this past winter. Today, if the weather holds and my sleepy teen rises and shines before noon hopefully we (mostly Cole) can get started on the job. It’s not a safety gate more of a convenience gate and boy have we missed the convenience. Mario Kart night was moved to next weekend (for further explanation see yesterday’s El Morno).
I stored some garlic in a mason jar (Hi I’m Katybeth and I am addicted to Mason jars) with the lid screwed on tight. Not a good idea. When I took the lid off, the smell that came out of that jar could be used to ward off an army of a million vampires. It almost knocked me on my teehineyhocus. I’m still trying to get rid of the smell. In the meantime, no worries about vampires and going forward garlic will be stored with plenty of air circulating around it.
Wishing everyone a scintillating Sunday. We’re having a prime roast for dinner with sides. Maybe a roll. What’s new with you?
Odd Loves Company ,
Morno,
We are going to a streak house for dinner tonight. Prime rib roast sure sounds good, tho.
Interesting information on hairballs since my Grandcat is arriving in a couple of weeks. Stepping on wet hair balls is something I would like to avoid.
Glad you don’t have to worry about vampires
Run-away porta potty was funny. Glad the cubs fan got his wish to become a grandpa.
No golf today. Laying low and getting some things done around the house. Good luck with your gate.
Have a good one.
Did you order Prime Rib?
I would ask about hairball management.
No worries about vampires despite air fresheners and pitching the offending containers I can still smell garlic.
Some times a day off even from activities we enjoy can be a good thing.
Holy hairball!!! That is a lot of hair!!!! I do know that retching sound very well. Ugh. Thanks for educating me.
The rain has set in for all week. I am working on cards for hospice before I leave for a long weekend in NC . Seems they have had an extraordinary amount of deaths in the past couple of weeks and they have used up their supply. I need to get crafting. Good thing to do on a stormy day. Good thing we got all the outside and yard stuff done yesterday. Never mind that my wicker chairs are in the neighbors yards now…..I need to go retrieve.
Your welcome. I’m sure Buddy and Holly have hair management down to a science.
The weather is a nothing mucher but perfect for crafting. Your cards are beautiful. I am sure they mean a lot to the families they are sent too.
Did you retrieve your chairs?
Prime rib sounds like a great dinner choice. Won’t happen today, but that’s beside the point.
That port-a-potty stayed in its lane better than many vehicles. I was waiting for it to sideswipe the parked car though.
The local baseball team (notice I did not say professional because they do not play as such) is having a dog day. Nik & I have free tickets so we’re heading out soon. Should be fun!
Do I hear hammering & sawing yet from the north???
The port-a- potty humor on this post is too funny.
Did you have fun at dog day? We took Rascal to one and it was fun–of-course sharing the hotdog was the best part. I use the word share loosely.
Is that port-a-potty on WHEELS? I suppose that if you are going to have the crap scared out of you, that’s not a bad spot, but still. . . ! Maybe they need to install brakes and a steering wheel in those things. Oh wait. . . then it would need a window. Never mind.
Too funny! A window with curtains?
Dog showed this weekend. It was in a horse arena and the wind and dust was so bad there were times you couldn’t even see the course. The only good thing that happened all weekend was, we found a great place to eat. It was a Bar B Que place so I ran in to check it out before we committed. I saw a sign that said Prime rib dinner $12.95. So I went out and told the gal I was traveling with we had to give it a try.
So we did. We got a big piece of Prime Rib, a big baked potato and wonderful salad and a roll, FOR $12.95!!!! The steak was the best I’ve eaten in years.

Well good food always helps! And Prime rib is very tasty! Sorry the weather was so crappy.
I Love Prime rib and haven’t had it since the Manor was open in Beloit. That was eons ago. Should go and treat myself, I guess. Glad I don’t have to put up with hair balls. I do like cats, just not the litter box and hairballs. I avoid using those port a potties at all costs. Rather find a bush. I can’t hold my breath long enough to use one and besides that….hard to squat in one of those.!
You should treat yourself–maybe a girls night out. I love cats too but not the litter box and the hairballs are a real downside to car ownership.
I’ve only been in one posh porta potty. I think if you are going to have them you should order quality or at least ones that are tethered in place.
I’m late to the party, thanks to thunderstorms roaming around my area yesterday (they’re still circulating today and tonight, but I’m playing catch up while I can!)
Love Prime Rib. That’s one cut of meat I actually enjoy!
I’m a bit scared of cats — it’s the claws and sneakiness that bother me, but after seeing that video, I can add hairballs to the list!
Hairballs are pretty gross. It keeps threatening to storm but so far just mild rain and some wind.
Prime rib is tasty!
