★~ Today’s Quote: “Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let’s not bicker and argue over who killed who.” – Monty Python
★~Astronomy Day:
National Astronomy Day, part of Astronomy Week, is aimed at connecting the public to astronomers and astonomy enthusiasts. It was started by Doug Berger, the president of the Astronomical Association of Northern California in 1973. He had the idea to set up various telescopes in busy urban locations so that passersby could enjoys views of the stars. His idea took off and the event has grown to include several sponsoring organizations associated with astronomy.
Astronomy Day changes every year based appropriately on the first quarter moon,
★~ International Monty Python Status Day:
Participating is easy; think of one of your favorite Monty Python quote, and share it on Odd, with a friend, post it as your facebook status, or twitter it. It can be from the TV show, the movies, the musical, the live shows, Graham’s funeral, etc… or you can make it up yourself!
★~Tidy Up Day:
I met a little dusty gnome. He said it’s time to clean our room. Round. Round. Round. Whish. Whish. Whish. Time to clean our room!
Today we must tidy up our disastrously messy bedrooms, or any other rooms in our house that need to be picked up, straightened out, and cleaned up. Who knows? Under that stack of papers you might find $10, or a camera memory card, or your pet hamster, or maybe even a gnome! Beware though: the hardest part is just starting, and then one rooms leads to another and another and before long—your cleaning is done… Whish. Whish. Whish. Time to clean our room!
★~ Shrimp Day:
Let’s keep the shrimp dish simple. Just toss a few of nature’s lovable, pink, bite-sized crustaceans into a salad or pasta, or munch while dipping in cocktail sauce.
~ Americans eat more shrimp than any other seafood, beating out even salmon and canned tuna in popularity.

♥~ 1893 – The Supreme Court ruled that the tomato was a vegetable, not a fruit
♥~ 1869 – Charles E. Hires began selling his root beer mix during opening day at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. Hires sold his mixture in tiny packets that contained the various herbs, barks, and berries. You still had to boil these ingredients, strain the mixture, add the correct amount of sugar and yeast, ferment the brew, and then bottle it. But you didn’t have to collect the ingredients and buying the ingredients in one package was cheaper than buying all the ingredients separately. The pre-mixed ingredients were primarily sold to housewives, but were also marketed to druggists and soda fountains.
♥~ 1954 – Bill Haley & His Comets released “Rock Around the Clock“, the first rock and roll record to reach number one on the Billboard charts.

I snuck this El Morno in really late. Saturday included my teens Senior Prom and the day just got carried away. Until tomorrow!
Odd Loves Company
Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink. Monty is great late night TV. Played golf all day. Hope Cole enjoys his prom.
I’ve never watched Monty–but I WILL. I have heard that quote, tho!
Well, I’m up late so this worked for me.
Kid with a virus. Tomorrow plans will go down the drain, but I really don’t mind. I’ll stroke my kids hot head, look into his watery eyes, pour 7-Up, and surrender to being a Mom. Late night and lack of sleep is making me sentimental.
Looking forward to seeing Prom pictures.
So sorry you have/had a sick kid. Funny, I hate it when Cole is sick too, but the surrendering part isn’t all bad.
I guess I’m saving the house tidy up for the summer. Good time for it.
How’d prom go?
Good morning!
I know your planning to ruthlessly pitch those poor dear mugs….Kind of sad, really.
Bless Sir Lipton — whatever would we do without him??
Wicked storm last night, sending Dallas to his crate and me to beneath the covers.
I just know Cole enjoyed prom — bet he looked dashing in his new suit! We’re awaiting pictures, you know.
Shrimp is okay, but yes, I prefer fish, tuna, and lobster. I guess that puts me in the minority.
You are so right….Sir Lipton certainly improved the quality of my life.
All those sea food dishes are so good. It’s been a very long time since I’ve had tuna. I might have to fix that.
