★~ Today’s Quote: “I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.”So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”J.R.R. Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)
★~Waffle Day: “Lego my Eggo” No waffling on this holiday. Waffle day originated in Sweden as Våffeldagen. The holiday coincides with the Feast of the Annunciation and it is considered to be the start of spring for both Sweden and France.
While you are munching your waffle read a little Tolkien.
★~ Tolkien reading day: This day has significance to Tolkien’s readers, as it is the day of the Downfall of Sauron at the conclusion of the ‘War of the Ring’ in “The Lord of the Rings.”

★~Did you Know:
♥~ Tolkien’s full name is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. He was born January 3, 1892 in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
♥~ Tolkien’s four children were the ultimate inspiration for his fiction writing.
♥~ When Tolkien’s son Michael entered the army he listed his father’s profession on his paperwork as “Wizard.”
♥~ Three of the first languages that Tolkien worked on as a child were Animalic (he explored this one with friends, and did not actually invent it himself), Nevbosh (meaning “new nonsense,” Tolkien helped to construct it and enjoyed conversing with his friends in it), and Naffarin (the first language he worked on alone at age eight or nine.)

What is your favorite waffle topping or are you more of a pancake sort of person. Did you know that you can make bacon with your waffle iron? Odd Loves Company! Leave a comment if you have the time….
Namarie! (Farewell in Elvish),
Post Updated: March 25, 2012
I love pecan waffles and have always been a fan of the waffle house.
Tolkien love his books and poems; for certain a great wizard!
One of my favorite quotes-
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. J. R. R. Tolkien
Have a great day, Kb
Love the quote! Love Pecans! Love that you paid Odd a visit! 😀

OMG…how did I not know it was Elton John’s birthday? Some kind of fan I am. Thanks for keeping me in the know, KB.
Peanut butter and syrup? Wow. Interesting combination. Whoa, whoa, whoa back at you. I am certain spinning a belated Elton tune will be acceptable!

Waffles!!! Actually I like pancakes better but for today I will honor the waffle.
Elton John. So many great memories and the moment I saw the name Tom Jones I had to stiffle and urge (I am at work) to stand up and go “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…”
El Morno may be habit forming.
Thank you for giving Waffles there due. I am sure at some point it will be pancake day!
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
