♥~ Pinhole photography is lensless photography. A tiny hole replaces the lens. Light passes through the hole; an image is formed in the camera.

♥~ A common use of the pinhole camera is to capture the movement of the sun over a long period of time. This type of photography is called Solargraphy.

♥~  Sir David Brewster, a Scottish scientist, took some of the first  pinhole photographs, in the 1850s. He also coined the very word “pinhole”, or “pin-hole” with a hyphen, which he used in his book The Stereoscope, published in 1856.

♥~ A pinhole camera can me made from practically anything–it is basically a box with  a tiny hole at one end and film or photographic paper at the other end.

  1. We made a pinhole camera in Science when I was a kid. It actually worked and was one of the few Science classes I really enjoyed. Taking the day off from golf to get some stuff done at home and have dinner with family.

    Have a good one.

  2. Love Shrimp Scampi. I will have to try the recipe you have suggested. I remember using pinhole camera to look at the sun during an eclipse or something like that, it was a long time ago.
