★~ Sourest Day:

sour puss

To emphasize the balance of things in nature. A day for sour (Sauer) people.

If you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, congratulations! You are already celebrating Sourest Day. Today is a day for the grumps of the world. The curmudgeons, the cranky pants, the sourpusses. Who says you have to be cheery all the time? On Sourest Day we see the balance in life and nature. Without the sour, there’d be no sweet. Life giving you lemons? Today’s the day to shout about it. Reserve the right to be grumpy, irritable, and sour about the world and everything in it.

★~ Greasy Food Day:

sweet potato fries

Take a break from all those wheatgrass shots, fiber cereals and bowls of quinoa you have eaten to stay healthy. Today, fat-loving friends, is National Greasy Foods Day. Would you like to start with a Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza  Perhaps your greesy pallet it a little more sophisticated and would enjoy Fried Deviled Brie and what shall we have for dessert? I know…a deep fried snickers bar! Yum! I had sweet potato french fries at lunch.

The microwave was invented 58 years ago, and we have used to defrost and heat up quickly ever since.  However, never before has there been a gadget that does just the opposite — cooling without the long wait. That is, until now.

A product of Enviro-Cool Limited, V-Tex is an environmentally-friendly, efficient system that cools beverages in a matter of seconds. From wine bottles to soda cans, the unit is able to chill drinks in all types of containers without disturbing carbonation. How? V-Tex uses a “start stop rotational sequence” to create a Rankine vortex, which essentially keeps a drink in its original state while quickly bringing down the temperature.
The reverse microwave requires nearly 80% less energy than many standard drink chillers, allowing consumers to save money and keep things green. It also frees up standard refrigerator space, since most beverages can be stored at room temperature elsewhere until right before serving.

I wrote El Morno very early this Morno and then went full steam ahead into my day. It wasn’t until about 10 minutes ago that I realized that I forgot to publish El Morno. It’s just been one of those weeks. I’m looking forward to a mellow weekend.  What about you?

  1. Poor Katybeth, I was wondering where you’d gone!
Blame it on Mercury Retrograde, my friend. And it will be “backwards” until Nov. 10, too.
I like the idea of the instant-cooldown machine. Wouldn’t that be handy on a hot summer’s day?
I’m getting less and less happy over greasy food, the older I get. Some of that stuff is just too hard on my digestive system. Sigh.

    • i have a post started about Mercury Retrograde. And every time I try to finish it something interrupts me. Just noticed one of my sentences in this post is jumbled too. Grrr.
The cool down machine would be very handy! I love cold. And it would keep Cole from putting soft drinks in the freezer and forgetting about them….until you know.
My digestive system was fried a long time ago :-D.

  2. Cool cool down gadget. Beer would always be frosty. Hamburgers for dinner tonight at 5 guys. Plenty greasy. I alway swear, I will never go back, but since the locations are convenient I seem to find myself going along.
I overslept this morno and wouldn’t you know I had a meeting. One of those days.
    Have a good El Nighto

    • I do not like 5 guys; I alway walk out feeling like I need a shower. They need the cool down gadget in Europe where everything is served lukewarm. I ordered a beer just to enjoy something cold—and it was lukewarm too! Sunday is American beer day!

  3. i think lemons would be the sourest i’d go. sour candy does nothing for me.
i often think of having fries or a cheeseburger, but it hardly ever happens. too lazy to take that detour.
i like that v-tex machine. i doubt that i’d be sashaying while approaching it though!
nik & i participated in a howl-o-ween dog walk benefitting one of the local animal shelters. nik had a festive bandana for the occasion.
    good afternoon!

    • Oh come on you have to sashay a bit! Sounds like a fun walk. I’m sure Nik looked very cute in her bandana! I pulled out the dress-up box today and Rascal became very excited. She loves dressing up. Everyone else hid.
