♥~ 1967 – Raymond Burr starred in a TV movie titled Ironside. The show, about a wheelchair-bound detective, became very popular as a weekly series in the fall of 1967.
♥~ 1974 – A streaker (i.e.: someone running around naked), ran onto the set of The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. The clever NBC censors decided to blackout the lower half of the TV screen on the videotape to prevent an ‘X’ rating. The streaker was arrested, but released, for “lack of evidence,” said Johnny.
♥~ 1985 – Roger Waters of Pink Floyd made radio history. His Radio City Music Hall concert in New York was broadcast live using a new high-tech sound system called ‘holophonics’. It is said to have recreated the stage experience in amazing detail. Didn’t surround (sound) start out that way?

★~ Did you know:
♥~ In 1797 – Nathaniel Briggs of New Hampshire patented a device we commonly call the washing machine
♥~ The earliest clothes washer was a rock in a stream.
♥~ L’Ossovatore Romano, the newspaper of the Vatican, announced that the washing machine had more to do with women’s liberation than the birth control pill or their right to work. A University of Montreal study agreed, pointing out that home appliances, including the washing machine, freed women’s time, enabling them to enter the workforce.
♥~ The average American family does 8 to 10 loads of laundry each week, for a total of about 50 pounds. Almost 90 percent of laundry is done by women. The average load contains 16 different items and takes just under an hour and half to be washed and dried.
♥~ Washing Machines use about 22% of the total water consumed in the average United States home.
♥~ Clothes Washers can be powered by renewable wind energy. However, climbing to the top of your windmill to add fabric softener can be terribly inconvenient.
♥~ The most popular nick name for a Washing Machine: Oprah Spinfrey

Do you feel as though your kids are secretly selling your laundry services to the neighbors to pick up a little extra cash? I’m suspicious because I cannot figure out—with just Cole and I—how it is possible to always have a load of laundry to do? Oh, and don’t you love it when you wash the laundry, dry the laundry, fold the laundry and put it in your kid’s room for them to put it away, and they don’t! Then you go through the whole spiel—I WASHED IT, DRIED IT,FOLDED IT, WHY CAN’T YOU JUST STUFF IT IN A DRAWER OR HANG IT IN YOUR CLOSET, and they stare at you like you just suggested they empty the dish washer. At moments like this, I want to be a honey badger.
“The Vatican and the University of Montreal has informed us that the washing machine liberated women.” I have some thoughts about these studies, but you tell me your thoughts first! Drop me a comment if you have the time . . . Odd loves Company.

Happy birthday Lady Gaga! Love those shoes…! I think I will just start planning my menu based on El Morno. Tonight we will have shish kabob or corn dogs. It will all depend on my mood.
The devil owns laundry. I feel sure of it.
Have a great day.
Shish Kabob-Great choice! Can you believe I almost forgot Lady Gaga birthday??
CORN DOG. I love corn dogs.
Laundry is never ending but hey its better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
El Morno, Kb!
Yep-who doesn’t love a corn dog! Not me-that is for sure. Laundry is just a little better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
Food on a stick is AWESOME. I’m going to make kebabs tonight, just in honor of the day!
Yum. Hope you will share how you make them!

Well shoot, we’re just having pork chops in honor of the Crown Pork Roast. I heard so much about that roast I HAD to have porkchops!
Of course you love corn dogs, everyone loves corndogs. The perfect meal is a corndog for dinner and a Twinkie for dessert!
