★~ Rabbit Rabbit Reminder:
Today is the last day of August and you know what that means don’t you? It’s time to prepare for the first of the month and all that can be yours by simple saying ”rabbit, rabbit!” The first words out of your mouth on the first day of September must be “rabbit, rabbit.”
★~ Eat Outside Day:
Can you believe August is over? The summer days are dwindling fast and soon we will be saying, Cold enough for you? But not yet. Today is the perfect day to eat lunch on your patio, plan a picnic dinner in the park, enjoy a popsicle on your porch. Some picnic favorites are fresh fruit, grilled perfect- picnic chicken or vegetable kabobs, don’t forget the crusty bread and cheese.
★~National Trail Mix Day:
Trail Mix and I have a sordid past together. So I’ll just stick to my Hershey bars and encourage you to munch on the same snack that the Ancient nomads, and Natives Americans enjoyed for many moons according to Foodtimeline. Try Hit the Trail Mix, or Blaze-a-Trail Mix . I wonder where the Nomads and Native Americans found the M&M’S?

♥~Wantabe Criminals Do Your Research: When they get out of jail in 5 years or so, these two kidnappers might want to consider another line of work. Their hearts just don’t seem to be in it. When this became clear, the kidnappers gave the girl about $80 of their own cash and set her free. What’s more, they had shelled out about $1,600 on their kidnapping plot—including masks and a rental car. Police caught up with the pair in Fujian Province, and they got 4- and 5-year sentences. Cops say they took good care of the girl.

We had an amazing storm whip through here last night bring torrential downpours accompanied by wind; followed by hail; branches cracked off our trees, but fortunately they stayed firmly rooted. Cole and I stood outside watching from a respectful distance under the protection of the porch roof. Perhaps, the thing I like best about weather is humankind hasn’t found a way to tame it, yet. Thankfully, we’ve learned to the best of out ability to protect ourselves from weather , but when it’s going to storm, it will storm.
Speaking of the forces of nature, my dear Dad, sent Cole and I this video about the Awesome Osprey:

Wishing you a Super Saturday,
Odd Loves Company!
Morno,
We could use some rain. Seems like everyone is having some but us. I pack trail mix in my golf bag. I like some dried fruit in it. They sure don’t make them like Walter Cronkite, back in the days when they reported news and didn’t create it.
Osprey is an amazing fisherbird. Would hate to be in the way of those claws.
I’m off to the golf course. Have a good one.
Our rain went away or I would send some your way. Trail mix in your golf bag is smart, and easier to eat than a jelly donut.
I’m glad you liked the Osprey video, I thought it was pretty amazing too!
Good Morno,
That Osprey video is amazing. I can’t believe it is the end of the month already, August just flew bye in a flash. I keep trail mix in the car for those times the kids are so hungry they are sure they will starve to death. Odd news is funny. I can see my daughter calling 911 to report a bug, to her it would be an emergency.
Off to the movies this afternoon. The theater an entertainment multiplex so there will be something for everyone.
August did fly bye. I should keep trail mix in the car for Cole. When my cousin visited he was delighted to find out her purse could feed a small army and snacked from it the whole time she was visiting.
Hope your afternoon outing was fun!
Will try to remember *rabbit rabbit * before saying good morning to Nik.
Love trail mix! Loved your Mimi & mom story, too. Sounds like something I would like to do….
No to eating outside. 97* today. Maybe on November.
Today’s quote is funny!
Impressive Canadian runner Carallyn Bowes was! 1976 running shoes were not that supportive yet.
Sounds like the deceased had a laugh at his own funeral!
Storms are interesting aren’t they? I would like to see a hurricane or tornado from the outside in a guaranteed safe spot. Doubtful it happens so iI’ll settle for a thunderstorm.
Nik’s appointment went well earlier & I am sitting here at Discount Tire with Y chromosomes. My testosterone is elevating! BBQ tonight. Football has begun.
Good day & safe weekend!
My Mom still doesn’t admit she set the trail mix sting up and I’m very certain she never will but Joe was right–it was my Mom.
Storm watching is very cool. You might be surprised from a safe distance someday….
Glad Nik’s appointment went well. Go Nik! Go Football!
And here I thought Darling Dallas had a lot of fur — that Colonel Meow has got him beat by a long shot!
It’s far too hot — and muggy — to eat outside today. Perhaps we’ll have to wait on the picnic until the cold front comes through.
Nothing like a hilarious Irish funeral. Wouldn’t surprise me if the old guy had a saying in the “gaffe.”
I’m off to run errands before the rains — thanks for letting me know I should have worried about Domer driving through all those storms yesterday!
My sweet Mother says it best, Worrying works for me, the things I worry about never happen. So glad Domer made it safe and sound.
I bet you are right about an irish Funeral, something always goes awry…like your great grandfather being buried in, his visiting for the funeral, grandson suit. An odd story for another post. 😀
It’s no longer morno but I love the Odd News on Saturday. And it did not disappoint. The funeral story is so funny, I can only imagine the first reaction of the mourners, but I bet they were surprised.
I’m more of a fan of Chex Mix than Trail Mix.
I’m off to get ready for bed which should see me through to midnight when I can yell Rabbit Rabbit! I am looking forward to a super September.
TTFN
Glad you like the Odd News! I like Chex Mix.
It’s going to be a wonderful September.
This story just keeps keeping on. How in the world would I have gotten trail mix to you with a Manitowoc address?
I was living in NM at the time!
M
You’re very clever and more than a little bit sneaky.
